For free how can you beat it?

It's been doing its job well. Unlike AVG. So far so good.

i have it on all machines now

I have it on one machine, and Symantec on another - Microsoft has picked up a few things Symantec didn't.

got it on my private pc but I've never seen a review of security essentials. I think it's good, it doesn't slow down the power of the machine as other antivirus programs do. But I am not sure if it's really safe, I hope it is :) .

i forgot to install on win7, let's do it now, to see what will do :)

The problem is people actually don't expect anything from Microsoft to work

Yep - it rocks. Doesn't hog resources and just does the job quietly.
