Slayer!!!!

When going through a creative funk, SLAYER can always lift my spirits and spark my creativity...

It's great that the Big 4: Anthrax, Metallica, Megadeth and SLAYER are playing together, but sucks that it's in Europe, although they are playing it in theaters...

This song is stuck in my head today:

my favorite SLAYER song of all time:

great cover by SLAYER...GBH's "SickBoy"...my theme song ;-)

Saw 'em two time, I'd do it for a third time...

Dude you have no idea how much I love you right now. I saw them in Vancouver last summer. Man, I nearly shit my pants when they played angel of death. One of the heaviest songs of all time. And one of the best.

Well, I wanted to post my favorite Slayer song, but every song off of Show No Mercy and Reign In Blood is my favorite, so I'll just post a true masterpiece, "Metal Storm/Face the Slayer."

A couple years ago for my son's 12th birthday, I took him to see SLAYER and Lamb Of God and he became a SLAYER fanatic....as much as he loves that song, his favorite is Raining Blood, but some of that is also probably due to Guitar Hero...I've seen SLAYER in the neighborhood of 20-25 times. Always great. Tom's voice isn't what it used to be, but after 30 years of singing the way he does, it can be excused, because they all still play like they're in their 20s.

Man, I've seen them once, and I'm dying to see them again. I can hear where your son is coming from when it comes to Raining Blood, just because the gallop riff is absolutely amazing. It's so simple (to listen to and play, even), but it just has this heaviness to it that makes my head bob.

edit: Araya just had back surgery, I don't think he is allowed (or able?) to head bang anymore. They were on jimmy kimmel live I believe, and king and hannemen were headbanging like they always do, but araya just had to stand there :(

Yup, very underrated album. Their version of DI's "Richard Hung Himself" was amazing too...
and of course their version of Verbal Abuse's "I Hate You"
