CCBill & Cavecreek

Let me tell you a little bit about one of the best companies I have ever worked with.

I'm a forty year old male with a masters in marketing and twenty years in customer service related field, except for five years as a High School teacher. I know you don't give a shit and franky it does not mean shit. However, after dealing with as many customer service related issues and companies as I have, it is easy to seperate the good from the bad and the exceptional from the good. (Please take note, that while I was a HS teacher... I was not an english teacher) haha!

CCbill... without a doubt is the finest company I have ever dealt with. Not one company in all my years has even come close. Their dedication to their clients is first rate. They go way above the call of duty and never once have they dropped the ball. Corvette and Sean have bent over backwards to help us out anyway they could. Trust me... that means alot to us newbies to the business. They walked me through everything and spent time when they didnt have to. My hats off to al the staff over at ccbill... The techs are great and always on the job.... Accounting has never missed a beat and I have never felt like I was not there most important client while I was on the phone with them. They have always been proactive and when they have seena a problem they have addressed it. Even today they called our offices and ask if they could help out on a server situation that had come up. By making that call they saved me about $1000.00 that they could have billed me for and I would have never questioned it. They are not the cheepest processor out their, but you get what you pay for. In this case.... I have gotten more then I paid for.

I truly thought that real customer service was dead. Never in a million years did I think I would find it on the internet. CCbill and Cavecreek has restored my faith.

Thanks guys for bearing with me though my newbieness and helping make things happen.!!

If you are looking for a new processor or host.... call Cavecreek and CCBill.

Sorry to sounds all gushy, but this needed to be said.

Thanks again guys!

Jeff

What about all their password issues?

PerfectionGirls 01-02-2003 11:16 AM

Nine months and never had a password issue here. Everything has balanced in that area.

No offense but, since you're a newbie, you're probably being hacked and don't even know it. Their scripts are really lame. Quote from a recent GFY thread, which has been confirmed by several webmasters I know personally:

"Let me tell you this...If your using ccbill you are fucked. Their scripts are wide open. I got friendly with this password cracker and has key generators for literally 1000's of ccbill sites so basically he can write paswords to your password file at free will. I contacted CCbill with this info and they were clueless, they were asking me to ask this 16 yr old how to fix it even after i sent them the whole convo WITH the script the kid made to be able to do this...what a joke. Another sad thing is that i HIGHLY doubt they contacted everyone about this. One more thing...pennywize, password cop, ect. are useless against this."

And, apparently due to the same problem --- which they still haven't fixed --- I found this post on another webmaster board just yesterday:

"I've had problems with someone adding usernames to the password file. One time they added several thousand usernames and passwords. I called up CCBill and had the file cleaned up and saw it was fixed...... not 15 minutes later the usernames that were just deleted were back in."

I also know people who have talked to Ron Caldwell personally about their script problems, but he dismisses it. I've heard that they can be good on OTHER customer service issues, but this just sucks.

Sorry but, in my humble opinion, CCBill isn't all that great.

One thing I do an a daily bases is check my logs.. done it from day one. Its pretty easy to see if your usernames out number your paying members. When this situation has come up, it has been dealt with by ccbill. It has come up and it might again. My point was not to say they are perfect in every aspect. My point was to show they are willing to go the extra mile to make it right. Hell... they screwed up before.. even with me... but it was fixed and fixed fast. They made it right and I was happy. Thats customer service...

There is always going to be problems in this tech field... Its not so much the problem as it is how the problem is dealt with. They deal with the problem and do there best to make it right.

If a 16 year old computer wiz with a hard-on wants into your site, he's gonna get in, no matter which processor you use. Its a fact of life on the web.

Beat them at their own game by blocking the passwords and re-routing the traffic to pop-up hell, make a buck or two off em.

Ccbill rocks, solid for us for 4 years!

I have been saying CCbill is the way to go for a long time, most people are not password crackers

Id rather have 10% gain entry to my site using stolen passes then not be paid ontime or have other bullshit going on

CCBill all the way!

Good Luck

I disagree. Sure, there are always problems, and no processor is going to be perfect.

But this particular issue has been posted for months now, with webmasters begging for a solution ... and CCBill still hasn't addressed it.

Sure, they'll temporarily fix the password file --- but that doesn't do any good because they haven't fixed the scripts that are the root of the problem. This, despite the fact that it has repeatedly been brought to their attention.

They're NOT doing their best to make it right. And I know webmasters who have incurred thousands of dollars in bandwidth overages because of these hacks.

Just curious... are you one of them? Seems to me if they have incurred "thousands" of dollars in overages, it could be that several people... including the webmaster, needs to pay more attention to this issue. Seems like it would be an ungoing battle no matter what processor you used, but I may be wrong on that. All I know is that I have not had a problem at all.... what small issues I have had, have been dealt with in a five minute phone conversation.

To date I have not experienced that drastic of a problem, but if I did... As escortbiz said: "Id rather have 10% gain entry to my site using stolen passes then not be paid ontime or have other bullshit going on".

I do understand what you are saying and thats cool. I can only speak from personal experience. With my personal experience, I feel very comfortable with all my statements on this topic. It also appears that there are people with a lot more experience with ccbill then I have that agree with me.

"If you are looking for a new processor or host.... call Cavecreek and CCBill. "

... I´ve been hosting with them for over 4 years and the only problem I have is, their support is worth more than I am paying for it ... I feel kinda bad about that !!
