Kimbo Slice getting a lesson in not telegraphing punches from Michael Jai White

Really interesting for fight fans. I remember starting Tae Kwan Do a long time ago(never went anywhere with it), and the instructor was really big on this technique in the video.

Kimbo needs all the help he can get. So much potential but it may be just a few years to late. I have been pulling for him. He seems like a genuinely nice guy.

Yeah he seems a lot nicer than I thought me might be.

He is very soft spoken, very polite and one of the nicest guys i know. Very humbled and appreciative of everything he has. Known him for 8 years already. All of the people around him put him where he is now. The good, and the backlashed bad.

Michael Jai White giving lessons??!! Isn't he that third rate actor and from what I have seen, a third rate martial artist :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

If it was Chuck Norris or Jean Claude Van Damme giving lessons, I might listen. They have martial arts talent :thumbsup

leg4 06-11-2010 11:02 PM

I enjoyed this video and found it very insightful...

dig420 06-11-2010 11:27 PM

As Justdave could tell you, what Jai White is throwing there are called 'arm punches'. Yeah, you can hit someone with it almost everytime, but there's nothing on it. You gotta get your hip into it if you want to hurt someone. Kimbo could have told him that I'm sure, but he was probably trying to be polite.

Nice lesson, i like it, he really know what he is talking!

CaptainHowdy 06-12-2010 06:24 AM

I have a brutal hangover and this isn't helping...

bloggerz 06-12-2010 06:31 AM

good tip

Doctor Dre 06-12-2010 07:13 AM

That's some nick diaz kind of shit.

The truth is... if you want to knock someone out, you have to use weight transfer techniques. Arm punches might leave you bruised but it's very hard to knock someone out without the weight behind it.

Yeah, but one thing he said is really true -- "its the punch you don't see coming that knocks you out." I know this from personal experience.

He may be a third rate actor but he holds 7 black belts in various martial art forms.

You don't need to knock him out with one of those punches. Just hit him enough that he doesn't see the knockout punch coming. Exactly what he said in the video.

yeah. That's called a 'jab' and most fighters already know about it lol

DavieVegas 06-13-2010 04:37 PM

Hes out of the UFC. Who cares lets move on.

tical 06-13-2010 05:01 PM

Michael Jai White is 42 years old. To be able to do what he does at that age is simply amazing. I know a 30 year old that can't even fuck his girlfriend properly because of "back problems." Poor bastard.

Rick Diculous 06-13-2010 06:19 PM

It's nice to see Kimbo in a non combat video. Looks like a really nice guy
