Site is dropping PR every day!

I've got a simple site going, I've only just started to build backlinks. I am building a few each day but for some reason, over the last week its dropped a few places in google each day, it was 70th last week and is now 93rd, All i've done is add about 10 new backlinks a day, why is the page rank going down?

bignasty 06-11-2010 07:32 AM

Could be the quality of links you're adding. It's not just how many you have but the quality of them. If you're adding links then start going down, something could be spammy about them.

Agent 488 06-11-2010 07:36 AM

doing something wrong.

AntiChrist 06-11-2010 07:41 AM

How can you build backlinks? Think that's the reason. You cannot "build" backlinks.

How old is it? is it new? If its new it will be bouncing all over the place :2 cents:

Maybe because of google caffeine..
http://googlewebmastercentral.blogsp...-caffeine.html

and you are not losing PR, you are losing SERP

Do you have a site map and active google webmaster tools acct?

Also, if you get a lot of traffic via LTs, the recent changes fucked that shit up. Quality LT pages FTW. Anyone in the LT game, hit me up for cheap but high quality solutions.

bdld 06-11-2010 11:25 PM

if you've never "built backlinks" before, and are just starting to do it now, maybe 10 a day is too much for that site.

EliteWebmaster 06-11-2010 11:28 PM

Either that or Google is penalizing your site for something.

digitman 06-12-2010 08:03 AM

It's fairly new. Like 3 months, it was ranked at 140 for a while, then jumped to 70 and now its slowly dropping. By building backlinks I just meant buying/creating backlinks. Sorry if that was the wrong terminology. I do have a webmasters account, this is where I'm getting the data from. All links are on adult websites so its not like I'm linking from the wrong places... i'm guessing it is just because it's fairly new then. If i'm adding too many per day, does that mean I should watch how many posts on gfy I make, because the link is in my sig?

Agent 488 06-12-2010 08:05 AM

your site is too new. shit like that is natural. keep building links and learn not to panic with every fluctuation.

marktruman 06-12-2010 08:10 AM

is there a limit on how many links you should have per day?

Tulku 06-12-2010 08:17 AM

keep building links and updating the site no worries ..
when the site is new it's normally to go up and down ..
2 cents

There is probably not a limit, but if google see's 300 back links and the site
is only getting small traffic then it makes no sense that the website acquired those
back links through a "natural" process.

why not? a site could have just went viral.

if it gets 300 backlinks one day and nothing else after that yes it prob will get penalized.

If a site goes "viral" then it will get "X" amount of back links per "Y" amount of
visitors with "Y" being far greater then "X".

Every surfer is not going to run post a link somewhere.

People have more back links then they had visitors.

You've just started. Google often bumb new sites with very few backlinks just to give them chance to get some traffic and natural backlinks by visitors. It lasts few days and then they will give you position you deserve by algorithm.

My proof is that most surfers are not nuts.

Only nuts go to a website and then post back-links on 50 message boards.
And that's the only way a site with 50 hits a day is going to get 300 back-links.

If a site gets 0-1000 hits a day and has 300 back-links then I think google will
consider the site nothing more than spamming to get SE rank.
Which is exactly what the site is doing.

So what you paid for the link; it's still spam because the link would never
be on that page pointing back to you if you hadn't "made" it appear yourself.

"Building back-links" is in fact spam.

Cyber Fucker 06-12-2010 05:21 PM

Some links may be harmful for rank, well, but sometimes it's just Google, you really can't have full control on the rank position, note also that your competitors don't sleep all the time.

FrozenJag 06-12-2010 06:46 PM

Your site is too new to even worry about it. Wait until 6 to 8 months before you even pay attention.

Also when adding links its normal for your serp to go down before bouncing up to its new position.

Horny Dude 06-12-2010 08:33 PM

Does PR still mean anything any more, besides trying to sell links on your site?

google isn't a person. google does not think or consider.

if you think you can crack any competitive money phrase or word without a link building strategy you are a retard.

If you think google is stupid enough to not create intelligent algorithms to give
them what they want then you are a bigger retard.

They don't want sites that have spammed back-links all over the place to
out-rank sites with more relevant content.

Keep dreaming.

I'm not looking for any back links and that tells me one thing for sure.
It tells me that people who are actually paying/asking for back-links don't
really have shit going on.

Consider this :

I'm a programmer and I just laid out my idea of sites that should not get a high
ranking and how to identify them and can write the code to sort that out.

Do you think I'm smarter than the entire google programming staff?????

Get real. Google is trying to stay ahead of the curve; which means for every "trick" you
invent they are working to invent something to kill your trick.

That's how they got to be number one, and you think they are going to quit doing that?

Please brother!
