I still have some auto-updating TGPs. There are a lot of clicks on the image galleries and an extremely disproportionate amount of that traffic is mobile.

Ironically in this day and age of ubiquitous video on computers, laptops, netbooks, iPads & smartphones, photos are still really important. This is especially true for certain genres and types of content. I shoot a lot of high resolution photosets of new teen girls for various projects, and I often hear feedback on the photos from both clients & surfers. Videos are necessary too, but the collectors seem to really enjoy the photos for new faces and also for niches.

It's not just that pics are often clearer, but more to the point, pics are "static" - one can easily stare and fantasize at a particular picture as long as they want - that is appealing to many people.

i certainly think the typical surfer signs up for videos primarily but pics are still an important factor - we have a questionnaire and the preferred media is video according to 85-90% of subscribers. There will always be some that prefer pics and always a need for them.

If your surfer and you are making a porn collection, videos will take you TBs to hava descent one but photos will consume far less space on your hard drive. Also pics has a different "taste" than the videos

From a video everything is there for you to follow but limited to the scene script. From a picture you can imagine all sorts of things.

exactly! this is the main advantage pics have over clips. A pic gives you the starting point of a fantasy, clips push you down a route already made.

Which is a problem with some videos. 5 minutes in and the model is so obviously fake it's a turn off. But a picture is rarely that disappointing.

Almost all of my sites are PHOTOS only, mostly user submitted, members love it and rebill. While I read most of you saying how bad business is, mine is kicking ass and has been for years. Maybe if some of you stopped thinking you know what your members want, without really knowing, you would be doing well too.

I keep stats on everything. Every photo, every gallery, every model. Even the video sites I have, stats on every file. I can tell you exactly what my members want to see more of and I dont pull it out of my ass.

Pictures are the cornerstone of our industry... If not people wouldn't bother to dress up their thumbs ever on galleries and we would just have tours full of vids.. They sell better than vids do if you get the right shots...
