What is the best phone for websurfing?

Had a blackberry and it is terrible for web surfing. Whenever I go to certain sites, the display is usually messed up or the links/text is messed up. Finally giving up and throwing it out.

Any recommendations on a good web surfing phone? Speed is also important :)

ps. Leaning towards the new Iphone 4 but still hoping to get some suggestions base on what you guys use

The HTC EVO has a 4.3 inch high resolution screen. Oh, and 4G internet speed. Kind of hard to beat speeds between 3Mbit/s and 5Mbit/s on a cellphone!

I like my I-Phone and do a lot of work online with it.

Did I hear the guy above say 4G!

3G is nice hopefully 4G is "noticeably" better.

Thanks guys, HTC EVO is quite compelling. I wonder if it can be jailbroken?

DateDoc 06-09-2010 02:35 PM

iPhone works fine for me here.

check the sprint map to see if u can get 4g as it is quite limited and buy an extra battery as it will be out of juice in about 3 hours. http://coverage.sprint.com/IMPACT.jsp?INTNAV=ATG:FT:Cov

Iphone is good

Yeah I'm leaning towards the new Iphone 4 or possibly HTC EVO. Both look quite promising. The one thing I don't necessarily like about Iphones in general is the touch screen for texting. I'm still used to physically hitting the keys when I'm texting.

But it might be time to adapt and get used to texting with a touch screen :)

Android 2.2 will be able to do flash... no brainer... go with the EVO

1. Big ass screen
2. 4G
3. Flash support

hmmmm :winkwink:

Get the Moment or the Droid... both have slide out keyboards. No 4G though.

You don't Jailbreak and Android phone, but rather gain "root" access. This has already been accomplished with the EVO.

Yup I just ordered the motorola droid today cause I like having a real keyboard and the web browsing is awesome on it too. I've had the tmobile g1 for almost a year and loved it but the droid is better. I got the droid from amazon for $20

I'll say something about the blackberry. It has a ridiculously small keyboard. How are you supposed to type on that? With your nails? I demand a reasonable typing device. I need to reach speeds of 70 words per minute. A normal size keyboard has to be attachable to the small mobile device.

iphone is best from my opinion

Horny Dude 06-09-2010 04:29 PM

I like my Iphone for surfing the web. I thought 4G was only in selected areas. I know San Diego doesn't have 4G.

Droid Incredible is pretty sweet. http://phones.verizonwireless.com/htc/incredible/

PussyMaster 06-09-2010 05:37 PM

i`m for HTC EVO

Odin 06-09-2010 09:03 PM

I like the android platform but the evo has been getting bad reviews (battery life being the killer issue). My motorolla milestone/droid is great, the slide out keyboard gives me much more screen space for web pages to load in.

I didn't realize that HTC EVO had bad reviews about battery life. That might put it out of the running for me. I hate low battery life phones. So my choices based on your recommendations are pretty much Iphone 4 or Android. I am definitely digging the Droid's pullout keyboard. Anyone know which one's lighter?

Battery life is the one thing that puts me off from getting a fancy phone. It's going to be like i'm suddenly back in 1992.

Here's the thing. I've had the EVO for a week now. My battery gets charged overnight, and by the time I go to sleep the next night, it's at 30% after a full day of using it.

* THE BATTERY WILL GO OUT QUICKLY IF YOU ENABLE WIRELESS TETHERING *

If you share your phone's 4G connection with other wireless devices, the battery WILL go out quickly.

There's 3 simple solutions to the battery "problem". 1) Turn off 4G unless you really want to use it; or 2) Do not enable wireless tethering; or 3) Buy an aftermarket battery that will be able to handle everything you want it too. They're on Amazon.
