Sad news from Nifty Stats

Because of the fact, that we want to constantly enhance Nifty Stats, we need to change the user terms. From 21st of July 2010 you will be able to download statistics of up to 15 affiliate programs or advertising networks.

With this move, they will just make competition stronger long term or even motivate some other people to offer similar service.

there are dozen small webmasters or people just doing this job sometimes, not as main job, that will stop using them fast.

If they already want to do this, my opinion is that they should reduce monthly price and give option to buy software forever . This way, they loose, long term,that's for sure.

it means there will no longer really be a free version since the free version will only allow 15 programs to be tracked - which is useless for most webmasters.

Thats $100 more a year.

Can't really blame them. They have bills and expenses, need to make money somehow. If the product is useful and saves time (which it does), users should be willing to contribute back.

so what, they saved so much time for me and i have been thinking about buying them almost daily last time, so good move and i cant wait to see nifty without that boring banners :)

Without a viable free version of Nifty there's no reason to use it anymore. Everyone is going to go back to statsremote. The only thing that made Nifty so popular was its price.

statsremote free version is just as limited, if not more. i'd think this is still a viable option for many part time webmasters.

Statsremote doesn't have a free version. There's a limited trial that works for a week or 20 starts, whichever comes first.

I wonder if the free version can be upgraded.

StatsRemote is clean and awesome. I have no problem paying for such software. I tried Nifty and never liked it much, what was that other free one United Stats or something?? Are they still around?

i never expected nifty to stay free forever, honestly. they made it free to get us in the door. but i been paying for a while now.

I absolutely love Nifty Stats and right now I'm using the free version and was thinking about upgrading to paid in a little bit but it sucks they're doing this as I'm sure a lot of people checked out Nifty Stats because of the free version. Oh well, I still support Nifty though, I think it's a great program.

Cut price at $10 monthly (if you already don't want to give lifetime licence what really sucks) and there is no webmaster that' can't afford it. You will kill competition with low price and keep webmasters for yourself. They won't ever think about other service.

Well if you've never tried NS you can't really know for sure if SR is 10$ monthly better than NS....

anyway...Shit...i think they should drop the price but... i'm quite sure i will end up paying... it's too useful...
