Anyone got an ipad yet? thinking of getting one, are they any good compared to a small laptop of half price of an ipad.

Every year he will bring out a new one.

I say buy one now (got mine on the UK launch date last week), then sell it when V2 comes out. I do that with all my apple kit. Resale value is unlike any other consumer electronics.

picked up a 32gig model, only cause the 64gig was sold out.

I have a 32gig wifi model. I would recommend it!

Don't expect it to replace a laptop, but it sure kicks a laptops ass if you are sitting on the couch, airplane, airport, coffee shop etc.

When I travel now, I bring my 17" laptop and the ipad.

Saw an ipad on the plane yesterday and thought he'd be doing something cool like watching a movie or browsing internet but the guy was playing solitaire. Full screen solitaire. Thought maybe he pressed the wrong button or something but an hour later, still playing solitaire. He bought a $1000 solitaire machine :Oh crap

Solitaire's the only game in town :helpme

I wonder if people can play WOW on that thing.... That would be SICK.:thumbsup

I have one and haven't touched my laptop since.

Using the Logmein ignition app I can control my desktops and my servers and with the Dropbox app I can sync files between devices. The Air Video server is a nice app as well.

I miss having flash on a few sites, but for the most part, I'm good. Real good.

You get out of an iPad what you want to. Seriously.

I have one, not really impressive to be honest. I suppose it will be hitting the junk pile in a month or two.

i been wanting to buy that logmein app for a couple days now.

maybe next generation, i think it still need lots of improvements

just get the iTouch -- it's the iPad nano

That's probably because you haven't found your specific niche of usage for it yet.

The device does require a bit of thought as to what one can use it for and from what I've experienced, persons can get lost in the apps store.

What I foresee in future marketing of the iPad is the packaging together of apps in ways that cater to what certain persons would generally use it for (e.g. housewife, businessperson, high school/college student, etc.)

The question is a joke, right?

I have the 64gig 3G since yesterday and I am loving it.

I'd get one of the android based ones instead. They cost 1/3rd the price if that, and are probably better anyways.

I got my iPad and I LOVE IT!!
It has replaced my Notebook PC.

Air video server, and Logmein app are tempting me to get one. Any good deals available?
