A way to block a local machine from reaching an IP address

What is the easiest way to block a local machine (windows xp) from reaching an IP address. I got some software that I want to stop from reaching one IP address, or block my computer from reaching this IP at all. If it was website address or url I would just put it in the hosts file but it's an IP address. Thx in advance for the suggestions. :helpme

You could use your HOSTS file if it is connecting to a domain name rather than an IP.

c:/windows/system32/drivers/etc is the location

You could always try adding the IP in and pointing it to 127.0.0.1... I can't recall if this worked after XP SP2

lol... You've not read my post carefully I think. I've already written it doesn't work with hosts file because this is an IP address not url. I can't also block it with ZoneAlarm. ...but there must be some way :D

pay a russian scammer to make you a malware app.

Ok. I've found the way using Internet Protocol Security (IPSec), anyway thanks for trying! :pimp
