Bandwidth is cheap and getting cheaper, while only one lawsuit has actually gone to courts, but it's not clear if they have gotten paid.

The next suit will do something, but it won't stop the smaller tubes that pop up everyday and cant get traffic that a normal paysite generates.

Everyone blames the tubes, but I think the truth is a lot more complicated than that. Take a look at where all Internet traffic is going - sixty percent of all traffic goes to one of five sites such as Facebook, Myspace, Youtube, etc. Then factor in that we are in the middle of the worst recession we've seen in our lifetime; People aren't whipping out their credit cards to jerk off because they can't get it up because they are a few days away from loosing their house.

Tubes, torrents, file sharing... none of it did as much damage as each of you have done by making shitty sites, ripping people off, banging cards, not giving your members what you promise on your tour, never updating, having piss poor customer service, not being unique, and just being assholes. Honestly, there is just too much to write about this.

I agree I remember back in the big TGP days if people give too much away people would be pissed. The biggest ones where smart about it. But always the Hun I thought gave a little too much so I think tubes where the next way to compete. There really needs to be a back track and cap on this.

It hurts the entire industry when websites give away too video much for free.

Anyone who thinks Tubes will run out of content has little knowledge of the porn industry. There are 10s of thousands of DVD titles produced every year, and been like that for a long time, so they have lots of content to fall back on.

Plus the guy who has seen it all is way past buying anything.

Tubes are a MAJOR factor but it's only "another brick in the wall"

1) Torrent/Tubes
2) Economy crisis
3) Card/Bank scrubbing/declines

Of course, if you couldn't get stuff for free, even with number 2 and 3 mention above, sales would be better. There will always be a demand for porn online.

good point as free shit definitely has an effect but the economy as a whole is fucked and quite a few people are jobless or working at shit paying jobs as that is all they could find right now, this is bigger than just porn suffering.

Its all about getting your own traffic these days, If you rely on affiliates you wont get anywhere

Credit Card regulations probably had more to do with the recent closings than tubes. Although seeing your content on thousands of illegal sites probably doesn't help either.
