What is a good CTR?
Is 3,500 impressions/day with a 5% CTR (click through rate) on a 728x90 at the bottom of the page good? How about 1%? What is a bad CTR?
|
Ummm YUP...
Anything over 1.5, I would consider very good! |
Probably depends on the type of traffic you have and what kind of layout model you use
|
5% ctr is very good for banner!
|
1% is still very decent!
|
5% for a footer yes thats good. Whats the URL?
|
It all depends on the creative. My missing image banner in my sig has had more clicks than any other banner I have run here.

I accept CTR down to 0.80% or I will try to do something about it.
1% is acceptable and kind of what I calculate on and expect. 5% I would consider to be high to very high, but with a good image/banner it's definitely possible and happens sometimes. |

The reason banners suffer from low click rates is that most surfers simply ignore most of them..the term is " Banner Blindness". Experiment with different ideas and techniques..think outside the box until you find what works best for you. |
Surfers are more likely to ignore banners now in favor of juicy text links. But I'll echo everyone else and say 1% and over are good.

The best CTR I've ever had was a banner I made with a dark gray background and the name of my site in orange letters. Nothing more. Sometimes simplicity works best.
|
5% is definitely above the average
however if you put a niche banner on a niche website, and a banner is well designed, you can get even more than that |
I think 5% is very very good on bottom banner!
