Remember Napster?

Argos88 06-05-2010 01:29 AM

nothing will happen as always.

remember the pirate bay?? lots of judge, news, noise... But I go to the pirate bay and it's still working, better than ever and doing 1 million per month in revenue... so it looks like nobody has the balls to take these sites down and it looks like Google loves those sites.

pirate bay is like fort nooks...

Paul Markham 06-05-2010 05:44 AM

It's a small step in the right direction.

Even if they do shut down Limewire another will pop up or the users of Limewire will switch to another service. The only way to stop these sites is to block them from countries where they infringe the law of that country. Then the advertising revenue will plummet and the reason for the sites to be up will disappear.

Another way is to sue the downloaders.

No way is 100% but all are better for the economy than theft.

file sharing is cool, its like banning guns to stop people from shooting each other. Ive never even used lime wire or that type of stuff, but banning it wont stop it. Just more witch burners and good guy bagdes for the crusaders.

I think guns should be legal for everyone over the age of 21. You should be able to buy them at 7-11. It's the ammo that I think should be more tightly controlled and locked down.

I have never heard of anyone defending their home from a burglary with a torrent video.

Your home is fair use. It's a house.

I was watching a documentry on youtube last night about metal music. I got to part 3, and was quite unhappy when I found that WMG had flagged the video and had the entire soundtrack replaced with god awful techno music. Because of a few sound clips from some metal songs from like 1985.

If you are going to flag a god damned metal music documentry and have the sound replaced, at least replace it with metal music, not some douche canoe house DJ that failed DJ'ing school and was dropped as a child. Which is all of them.

Another doesn't have to pop up they are already out there. Last time I checked limewire uses the gnutella network. There's tons of applications that can connect to the gnutella network.

Audio swap on youtube is the future for music if copyright violations don't get to
a reasonable enforcement level. Shit music for everybody! Enjoy!

There are a few things I would love to produce for the internet; but the fact that
I can't protect it makes it a useless venture and therefore I skip it.

Everyday, it's like :
"I got a new idea!!!!....think..think...oh!....can't do it...stolen in 5 mins".

People who think copyright infringement is not affecting the quality of product
available to them are living in a dream world.

fatfoo 06-05-2010 01:25 PM

Napster, Kazaa, Limewire - these are all similar programs. It is not surprising that the negative feedback is happening. There was a lawsuit against Youtube for user uploaded copyright infringement, also.
