My old band had one song that went literally spent 3-4 days in 9 hour practices trying to nail down a simple pause and resume during a song. We put it in a weird place that didn't make sense but the end result sounded great.

So I can totally understand that clip.

Caligari 06-04-2010 06:22 AM

i like Metallica, but Kirk Hammett is the worst solo guitar player that ever managed to make a living from playing in a band

fatfoo 06-04-2010 09:39 AM

Metallica is interesting music to hear at least once.

What?!!?

The solo in Blackened is awesome and so are all Kirk's solos. Kirk Hammett is great.

PenisFace 06-04-2010 01:24 PM

Early metallica was amazing. New stuff is far to "rockish" for my tastes. Kill em all, ride the lightning, master of puppets, three of the great albums of all time, I think.

This version of Enter Sandman is sooo nice :)

I grew up with Metallica. I have all of their releases. It is the bend of the Millenium. They were MTV Icon. And people listens HM because of their music. No other HM bend had that much publicity and fans.

Dead 06-04-2010 02:33 PM

Cliff EM' ALLLLLL......Garage daze $5.98 ep was epic, Master of Puppets made my cocaine monkey stand on ear, and then came along ...And Justice For All, it grew on me, shorter straw rings a bell! But all the shit that came after was for persona and not for the original cause! They lost it..

then i guess you never saw them live. in a studio you can do 100 takes till you got it right but live you only have one chance. and Hammett regularly blows it

CaptainHowdy 06-05-2010 11:31 AM

Metalliwho??

Oracle Porn 06-05-2010 11:41 AM

PenisFace 06-05-2010 12:51 PM

Mustaine's a pretty impressive guitar player. And arrogant as hell about it, too. lol :1orglaugh

At least he isn't a giant douche, just arrogant about being a good guitarist.

Spunky 06-05-2010 01:07 PM

Dave will be the first to tell you that he is not a elite guitarist.

He's just a rhythm guy with a bad ass back pick, and one fuck of a songwriting talent.

And to those crying about Metallica selling out.

Yeah, sell out every fucking night for 29 years and holding.

smutnut 06-05-2010 01:18 PM

My favorite Metallica, even though it's a remake (or is that a remix in music?).

smutnut 06-05-2010 01:43 PM

This was the song that got me liking Metallica. Up till this song I thought they were another wanna be Heavy Metal band, but i remember hearing this song on my way to prison and then in hindsight, (NOW) thinking they are the link between Grunge and Heavy Metal.

Come on...

smutnut 06-05-2010 04:36 PM

This is the missing link from Rock To Nirvana and Grunge!

It was a big deal in some Filipino forums when word came out that Kirk Hammett was half filipino.
