Amputate Your Head 06-03-2010 09:31 PM

It is. It's much worse. And this capping bullshit isn't going to work.

LiveDose 06-03-2010 09:33 PM

Gee what a surprise...

mmcfadden 06-03-2010 09:34 PM

vid didn't work for me... they said 20% after the pipe was cut. now wtf did they do?

ThunderBalls 06-03-2010 09:35 PM

Here is a link that has about a dozen BP cams going instantaneously....

Spunky 06-03-2010 09:37 PM

I think the shear crushed it and it caused cracks along the way also it was jagged.the saw would have worked if it went around the pipe like a cutter and not a saw.like cutting solid teak with the pressure.of course it was going to jam.

fatfoo 06-03-2010 09:37 PM

ThunderBalls, the point is clear. The situation is not getting better.

dropped9 06-03-2010 10:00 PM

cams down?

ErectMedia 06-03-2010 10:05 PM

yeah looks worse to me :Oh crap

cosis 06-03-2010 10:06 PM

Seems like they just fucking rushed the cut. Why use sheers? It's just gonna smash the fuck out of the pipe. They should have just tried the saw again

epitome 06-03-2010 10:09 PM

Disgusting. At this point they could have just built a mile tall wall around the site.

According to my local news they just sait that BP is not really excepting solutions to the gulf oil disaster unless it is submitted by email and 200 words or less.

There is probably like million homeless or unemployed peole in the USA that could of solved this problem in like 24 hours but instead oil continues to gush for another 2 months.

cosis 06-03-2010 11:42 PM

They need to make that top hat fit on like a condom

mozadek 06-04-2010 12:08 AM

Some private company should make a big ass cork and shove it in the hole.

Davy 06-04-2010 12:52 AM

We are so screwed. Why isn't the government doing anything?

BIGTYMER 06-04-2010 12:54 AM

Time to call in the military to end this crap.

bjlover 06-04-2010 01:20 AM

You lot are such dipshits, everyone knows that until August when they drill the other two holes this wont stop. Everything they are doing is to keep you dipshits from realising that.

Go listen to what the real experts are saying. This wont be fixed by any of these measures, if anyone of them would work they would have done them allready, this is a multi zillion dollar industry with more experts than you can even comprehend and they havn't come up with a solution, because there isnt one.

Becuase they know as well as BP do and everyone else does, that there is no solution apart from drilling the other wells, which wont be finished until August.

Everything else is just delaying tactics for the sheeple

the yellow cap thing is on.. the thing with the number 4 spray-painted on it? well its covered now by all the leakage but damn.. SUCK SUCK!! the fuckin pipe aint suckin it all in with good enough pressure or what?

If that cap over it is unsealed and they cant suck the oil up fast enough, then are you tellin me theres no one with a solution? Cover the fuckin thing with a massive cone and let the oil go up into it and then suck it out better from the top..wtf.. lol call captain save-a-ho...

madawgz 06-04-2010 02:40 AM

seeandsee 06-04-2010 06:17 AM

I have idea, burn BP asses

roly 06-04-2010 07:30 AM

A new cap placed over a ruptured oil well in the Gulf of Mexico has begun to funnel oil to the surface.

US Coast Guard Adm Thad Allen said a rough estimate showed that about 1,000 barrels a day was being captured.

This is only a small part of the 12,000-19,000 a day believed to be leaking and BP says it could take 48 hours to know if the system is working.

Adm Allen stressed he could not give any certain figures on the amount being funnelled.

"Sometime later [on Friday] we'll probably be able to get an approximation of how much oil we are capturing," he said.

But he said that the amount should increase as BP shut off vents to capture more of the oil.

In a conference call to investors, BP chief executive Tony Hayward said it could take 48 hours before the system was optimised and a determination made on whether it had succeeded.

Ok so the plan is to cap the blown pipe and funnel the oil to the top and capture in a vessel right?

So what happens when the ship is full? Loads of oil will shoot up at the surface like an erupting volcano? I suppose funneling to the surface with a second lead which can be opened when first vessel is full would require too much thought...

mountainmiester 06-04-2010 09:58 AM

What would Jed Clampit do? He was just out shooting for some food when up through ground came a bubbling crude. He had to have a way to stop it.

Bird 06-04-2010 11:06 AM

Another BP fail

It's only capturing 1,000 barrels a day? What the fuck...

They said cutting the riser would increase the flow by over 20% so using their own estimates the well is gushing about 23,000 barrels a day and their cap is only capturing under 5%? Sounds to me like things are much worse.

they said it would get worse before it got better with this solution. they are now saying this should work and they hope it will capture upward of 90% of the oil.
