HELP !! your opinions please.
 

Hi friends at GFY!!!
First I wish all of you a Happy New Year 2003, may it bring peace to the world.
Next I need your opinion.
I use PayPal as payment processor on my site, and had that idea that I needed at second payment option. I signed up with iBill and made a special shop for payment via them ( my shopping cart is not interfaced with iBill yet.)
iBill has been on my site for one month now, but nobody has used it. My sale was down about 10 % in December, (but what do you expect in December.? ) But the point is that all sales go trough PayPal.
QUESTION: Do I need a second payment processor, or do all of you have PayPal accounts. ?
I read here everyday of all your problems with the different billing companies, and I don't need that kind of hassle if I can avoid it.
Please post some opinions.

I know some of you have problems with PayPal, I don't know how it works for paysites, but for me as a provider PayPal is great. No problems. Clients order, pay, the money go straight to my account, and they get their downloads.
If all have and uses PayPal, I don't see any reason for me to have a secondary processor.

As a content provider you do not need a second CC processor, it's nice to have one and in the New Year I may be able to put you onto one who will not rob you blind.

As for Ravyn's point here is my tkae on it.

Paypal take 5% or less, they do not hold back anything. As soon as the money is in our Paypal account we can withdraw it.

The rest take 15% and hold back 10% for 6 months.

So let's assume you are doing 10K a month on the net, and with your quality and prices you will be soon.
Paypal take $500 the rest take $1500 a month. That's an extra $12k a year.
There others also have in their bank account $1k a month which at the end of 6 months they start to give it back to you. But as we have seen if they go broke or they decide you are not an honest fellow. They can keep.

Paypal may freeze your account and decide not to give you your money. The rest steal it and tell you about it.

As I thought for a long time, there is no reason for me to have other than PayPal, but Tim went on an on that I needed a second option.
Maybe as you said, if you have something up your sleve, we can talk about that later.

Thats true, and in the summertime when the 25 hockey players go somewhere to find some ice, you only see nude girls in the streets...:Graucho
