no, use a google mobile sitemap

If you take a look at a bunch of top listings, many are using various means of redirecting mobile traffic. And most have been like that for many months, it doesn't seem to effect serps at all.

No, I have top 10 SERPs on two major gay keywords and use mobile redirect on that site with no problem.

Bird 06-03-2010 02:07 PM

It all has to do with what X-html the SEO bots hit. They all prefer xhtml over xhtml-mp , plain html or chtml, wml. You can always make the bot follow the xhtml with your redirect.

bdld 06-03-2010 03:41 PM

it hasn't hurt as of yet.

kristin 06-03-2010 03:42 PM

Nah, use a subdomain too.

Also, you can put a little blurb in your code to let Google know you are just sending your mobile traffic away.

fatfoo 06-03-2010 04:03 PM

I think it could.

trevesty 06-03-2010 04:27 PM

Using a 301 in .htaccess shouldn't penalize you at all... and as Kristin said, use a sub domain :)

i just joined topbucksmobile but then realized that i can just use my topbucks id.
what a idiot i am

According to some sources it CAN hurt when using a phpcode for the redirection.
Best thing to do is use a good htaccess code, i wouldnt want to take a risk if i where you.

Well now you have another. I'd suggest revshare with xsales for mobile - so if one is PPS, this one could be revshare.

Hit me up if you need anything or want to get whitelabel(s).

Doesn't look like it. So far, at least.

martinsc 06-04-2010 12:16 AM

I don't think so.... but use htaccess and not php

Icy 06-04-2010 01:31 AM

No it doesn't, i have been doing it for months and have not affected my rankings at all.

Also i never guessed i could make as much extra income redirecting my mobile traffic, if you have high traffic its really worth it.
