Gary Coleman's Wife Wasn't His Wife

Did Gary Coleman know that his ex-wife authorized to pull the plug on his life-support system? Or did his ex-wife commit a crime?

Quote:

Tragic actor Gary Coleman's death has been hit by a fresh controversy - the woman who told doctors she was his wife and gave permission for them to turn off his life support system was divorced from the actor.

U.S. TV news show Entertainment Tonight has obtained papers confirming that Coleman and Shannon Price had ended their marriage at the time of his death.

In fact, the documents reveal the couple, who wed in August 2007, didn't make it to their first anniversary as man and wife. Coleman and Price were legally divorced on August 12, 2008

I don't know the laws in Utah, but I think in most places living together for that period of time would make her his common law wife regardless. Also if you take into consideration he had no children and was estranged from his family she really was for all intents and purposes his next of kin.

DVTimes 06-03-2010 06:55 AM

she looks evil.

they don't pull the plug on people who they know will recover, it usually is under pretty bad circumstances that they even allow the discussion of it.

That being said, did anyone here the 911 call? She wouldn't go help him because she is squeamish about blood... he sat there in the kitchen struggling to get up bleeding everywhere and she wouldn't put the phone down to help in anyway and kept coming up with these stupid excuses.. I have a feeling that if she helped him.. at all!! he would have had half a chance at surviving... Now i'm well aware that not everyone can be a hero, not everyone can save the day but in a life and death situation like that? SUCK IT UP AND HELP THEM ANY WAY YOU CAN!!! not time for excuses!!!

just makes me angry and even ill because how many of us out there wouldn't do at least SOMETHING?

Now that's disturbing.

When something happens to someone you care about there's this weird instinct that takes over and it doesn't matter if its blood, vomit or feces, something just puts you on auto pilot and it doesn't matter.

Anyone who's taken care of kids probably has been in that mindset. Its like you just go in the zone and you do what you have to do.

If Gary Coleman didn't have fame and money, that bitch would have laughed in his face.

I read the article at canoe.ca.

I read that these "life support systems" can actually prolong the life of a person.

Amazing.

Most normal people don't even need to care, they just do it. Instincts kick in. You see somebody in trouble and the first thing that flashes through your mind is "how can I help?"

Of course, anybody that married Gary Coleman is most likely not normal.

We were talking about this tonight over dinner with friends. General consensus is she was probably taking pills, something in the valium / atavan / kolonsapam (sp?) family.

I heard the call myself on the news eariler, she sounds so detached, at one point though she says something to the effect of, "I really hope he doesn't die." Sounds like the words of someone fucked up on drugs.. or possibly severly fucked in the head, bith highly probable when discussing an average looking woman who would marry Gary Coleman.

Good point there. There might be a common law marriage or maybe legal admission forms. I would think the hospital would check first.

That's fucked up, but I doubt the investigation will go very far.
