Its going to happen so what are you doing..
Visa are going to get rid of rebills for adult sites, this is GOING to happen, some people have even suggested it could be April, some of the main guys here probably even know the date.
Well what are you doing to prepare? I personally am looking forward to it, more than likely the best quality member section sites will survive, the sites which have caused visa to do this will probably change to better quality. For ALL those that preach that there is nothing wrong in adding extra charges to members cards etc and hiding cancel links etc this is YOUR fault... My plan is to build quality and hopefully this will get me through it, what about other people? Anyone got any ideas? You could charge say 3 month memberships> etc |
And yes I am babbling.....
|
it won't happen, happy end of the topic :)

This is another of those half right half wrong threads
according to ppl who should be in the know - Aus being the home to many big industry players -somehting liek this IS going to hapen however i dont think it will quite that drastic *sigh* not a day goes by I dont see one of these "chicken little" threads :1orglaugh |

What do you mean exactly by "no rebills" ? They won't allow a person to charge a subscription to the same site twice ? Or that the processors can't automatically charge again ? How would they know otherwise if it was the member or the processor ? If the processors don't do it, what is to stop the site owners from collecting the information they need and doing it themselves ?
If it does happen that drastically, I predict that surfers are going to get fucked like never before when they start finding 100 new ways to charge the card for numerous transactions at once. |
..as opposed to the 100 ways they get screwed now? :1orglaugh
but seriously - Brujah you are right as long as there is a way to get an extra buck out of a wanker - porn peddlars will find it :Graucho |
I really do not see what you're worried about.
So you cannot automatically rebill a client, let's imagine for a minute this happens. (1) The guy has logged and paid into a sex site once and is so horrified he was unable to cancel and installed Net Nanny to make sure he did not make the same mistake. So the webmaster can no longer takes his money. (2) The guy liked the site and when he could not log in at the end of the month he rejoins. The god sites retain. (3) The guy likes to jerk off to Internet porn, but logged onto a site that in 3 weeks he has seen all he wants to and moves on to another site. The weaker sites will perish. If we can do this it will only strengthen the Internet. Because the good sites will fall away and the sites left will show the surfer that this is the place to pick up cheap wanks. The adult Internet is now over 10 years old and time to grow up. The days when you could start a site with a few sets are gone. The newbie has to either have a very deep pocket to get him established and through the learning/start up phase or go into the AVS, TGP areas. He will be the only one to suffer, the rest of us will flourish. Because with a stronger, better and mere responsible Adult Internet we will attract more clients. Bringing more $$$ to the party. |

Or you can keep a list of you subscribers, and their info (unsafe, but profitable in this case), and you can pass em through a script which will automatically make them sign up again, and rebill them - run it every 30 days, BAM REBILLS!
Initial Signup > Record Information and Pay > When rebill comes around, redo the initial signup but dont make it record information, just keep em rebilling until they EMAIL YOU PERSONALLY. There is a way around everything :-) |

Webmasters will have to sign up that they will not rebill automatically, they will have to state that on their site and if they do they will be facing criminal charges. :thumbsup Learn it, this is now an industry and we have to start working like businessmen to survive. |
What makes you so sure it's going to happen?
|
Change is good. The guys working smart and hard will always survive. The guys who know how to dance and INNOVATE will make the big money like always.
This industry is always changing so this is nothing new. There is always, always a way to get paid when there is a demand for a product or service. And the demand for PORN is INSATIABLE. It will never ever ever ever stop. It is at the core of every human being. Even our holy priests seem to have uncontrollable urges as we've now seen. You guys shouldn't freak webmasters out like its the end of the world. The end of the world will never come in this business, its only going to get better and a cooler sexual experience for the customers as broadband expands and the new technologys keep advancing. There are so many opportunities to make money in this business its unreal. You just have to be clever as a fox to know where the dollars are. 2003 is going to be the best year yet for online porn. All the Neg Folks can GFY! |

KRL The only person we are freaking out are those with sites no ones wants to rejoin. Those with quality sites will survive. I have survived in this industry for 26 years and never had to rely on "Standing Orders" "Rebills" etc. Produce a good product and you'll survive. |

I could be wrong but don't think so ------------------------------------------- For ALL those that preach that there is nothing wrong in adding extra charges to members cards etc and hiding cancel links etc this is YOUR fault... ------------------------------------------ These people will just find another way 2 fuck the surfer. Visa has 2 get rid of'm and find some way 2 keep'm from getting a Merchant account ( impossible maybe, will be a never ending job YES ). I could be wrong, but it just does not compute with me. Visa not allowing rebills.. |
Haha, great, another "the sky is falling" thread, and on january 1st, gotta love it. :1orglaugh
And now every TGP-posting chump is going to throw in his "expert opinion". This should be a long one. |

Who knows whats really going to happen. I don't, but lets specutate some more we're all good at that. Sammy |
How do you think that's gonna affect sponsor payouts ??? When a sponsor pays a webmaster for a join, they're banking on getting the rebills to make their profits, if they can't get the rebills, what will they do, knock down the payouts or shave like mad, he he he.
|
I'm sure AOL is going to have to stop rebilling customers... and AT&T... and my cable company... and my daily newspaper subscription will stop... and Columbia House... oh, and I can't forget my utility bills that are on auto rebill.... It just ain't gonna happen folks. :glugglug

exactly,, if visa stop rebills just for porn sites then you better believe that Visa will have a serious lawsuit going on, |
Quote:
adult is high risk, they can just stop rebills for high risk accounts |

and nobody "knows" when its going to happen if it does so I don't know what this freak is talking about... I've seen people TRY to act like they're on the inside "oh I heard from a close source at Visa rebill will maybe be ending fall 2003"...hmmmm Yes let's all jump on this maybe train...
|
and you don't think VISA could face a lawsuit from the industry?

don't see this happening for a few years, they will add a ton of more rules, regulations and fee's until it seems hopeless then they'll hit us hard....
|
Quote:
basically Visa is a monopoly, they are attempting to ruin an industry and apply a rule which is not fair i can't recall what the legal word is, but i know many industries have faced something similar... cable, telephone, gas for example |
Don't give ideas like this for Visa!
All this is just a simple theory until it's officially published! so quit this |
I do think they are gonna slap a whole lot of regulations like "If your chargeback ratio is ##% you will lose your ability to rebill" that's the most effective way to stamp us out. They will never be able to stop rebills across the board though.
This is only going to make it so some enterprising mainstream billing companies that process so many mainstream accounts that a porn company won't make a dent in their ratios will pick up IBill and CCBill's big porn accounts. This will include a lot of ramifications that we can talk about for days. The state of the union will change but the business will survive. |

I am ok with you being gay and all. Wanna play? |
Well, I think the future of rebills will be not be no rebills, but a move to monthly reminders that (something like) "Your subscription to SexGoatDorm.com will be expiring on 01/16/03. May we rebill your card ****-****-****-4567 at that time?"
I think the CC companies just want to keep making money without so many chargeback hassles. |

UnseenWorld does have the idea sorta? my opinion..
If they decide to drop the trial then that's actually a good thing! then I can and other webmaster's aren't in need of any sponsor's or afilliate programs, you see it would be a pay to enter one shot no rebills and if they bail so what?you still make your $$ in the long run it would be hassle free.. more automated. the sponsor's wouldn't be shaving you! be it rev-share or? they need to stop the greed keep the fingers off the shave buttons like you can do on ccbill, ibill etc.. the best revshare program that was ever introduced online then fucked up was PMB.. but greed stepped in. then it fell apart. (my opinion) :2 cents: |
(jammyjenkins) your amazing and small minded..
were not amused.. your sick!, this isn't a 'Gay' board.. Momma dropped you on your head for sure.... 'INJECT A LIFE DUDE' :321GFY |
