For those replacing WegCash links with FFN sites - STOP NOW !!! You will get ripped off.

So I gave them a try and sent some traffic.

Today I get this and have my balance cut to penies on dollar.

WATCH OUT FOR THIS FRAUD !!!

Thank you for promoting Asiafriendfinder.com.
As stated on the affiliate agreement: If your traffic produces less than 1 paid membership in 30 free signups your account may be converted retroactively to a "low performance affiliate" account in which you will earn $0.30 for female sign ups and $0.15 for male sign ups. We convert all affiliate accounts at the end of the payout period. While we value our affiliation, we find that as a business we cannot continue to pay the same rate for all members regardless of their conversion rate.

Note that we do not accept any traffic from the websites with adult content.

If you have questions regarding these changes, please reply to this e-mail.
Best Regards,

Denny L.

I thought all the dating sites said that.

I was naive.

"Note that we do not accept any traffic from the websites with adult content."

:Oh crap

NetHorse 06-01-2010 06:24 PM

Honestly, I think your title is a little harsh. This is just apart of business man. Times are changing, these programs can't afford to give you something for nothing. If your free sign-ups aren't productive then it's not profitable for them. Period.

Maybe that's why WEGcash went under, it's unreasonable to expect a program to continue to pay for free joins without those free joins converting at a reasonable ratio. :2 cents:

I think we will see more PPS / trial programs go under for the same reason. The big dogs might be able to sustain it, but the smaller guys will realize that sticking with basic rev-share is the logical solution to keep their programs afloat during this recession.

Now that sucks, but that doesn't make them "fraudulent".

fatfoo 06-01-2010 06:27 PM

You think they should pay more? Maybe.

Maybe you should read their terms:

http://www.datinggold.com/info.php?show=terms

"Any AFFILIATE who converts less than one (1) out of thirty (30) leads to a sale may be moved to our revenue share program, at our discretion."

NO program wants to give you something for nothing. If you sign-up for dating gold and your free joins are useless to them are they a fraudulent company for not wanting to pay a rate that has to come out of their pocket?

NickB. 06-01-2010 06:40 PM

CEcash does the pay per email right? noticed that in other threads

I read those terms and I also saw this post:

No, we'll definitely pay-per-email for at least the first month. If the traffic quality is poor, will convert to per-paid-member or revenue share, starting following month.

nikita (at) ffn.com
And no, they did not pay. they just converted all members to 15 cents.
So much for Nikita.

Hmm, I still don't feel that necessarily means that they are ripping people off. It DOES sound like they mis-communicated incorrect information about paying for the 1st month regardless of your lousy ratios with them.

However, in the end your traffic is not productive for them, I don't think any program will want to pay for your traffic out of their pocket.

I think you should just move on and try your luck with another program. Maybe your free joins will be more productive with another program. :thumbsup

Already did to Dating Gold.
And its kinda hard to blame it on miscommunication issue since their own guy - ff_nikita came in there and specifically stated that they will not convert, at least for the first month.
Its not miscommunication, its a lie.

if your bank, said " sorry we mis-communicated incorrect information" you now have $1, we spent your money on hookers and blow, would you call it a "ripoff" or a miscommunication ? and if before you had become a member they had promised not to take your money and spend it on hookers and blow, but they did anyways , how would you feel ? ripped off or mis-communicated ? :winkwink:

I see your point. In this case, the OP should get paid in full for this pay period, but beyond that his traffic is not productive and exactly why they have that stipulation in their terms and conditions. The reason I said it might have been a mis-communication is because perhaps an affiliate manager said whatever the potential affiliate wanted to hear so he would sign-up, (despite what was actually in the terms & conditions set forth by the program owner). It is shady, indeed, but that doesn't mean the program is "fraudulent". What happened to the OP was exactly what was in the terms and conditions when he signed up, (and quite honestly what's in the terms & conditions of every program I know of with paid free sign-ups).

jeez, I should check these board more often.

As you can see in my posts, the pay-per-lead offer was for AdultFriendFinder (not AsianFriendFinder) and only for ex-WEG affilates who contacted me. Sorry for misunderstanding.

We're still buying API dating leads at $1.50

Good post. I much rather see good revshare programs without the bullshit anyway. I prefer it that way. I make money, you make money. No games. neither of us out to screw the other. It's sad that some call this being naive or unrealistic...
