We tend to play well when odds are against us.

Well, lose against us then beat all the rest :P

The Demon 06-01-2010 11:40 AM

One of you has a better chance of getting a legitimate job than the US beating England.

I'm calling a draw and both will advance out of the group.

Scott McD 06-01-2010 12:03 PM

That would be the only thing that would make me watch this dull sport :2 cents:

Normally I'd tend to agree with that, but the FIFA world cup is a whole other level. The best of the best in the world, it's definitely worth watching this every 4 years. You've got living legends on the field, idolized by millions. I like watching in part just to see if they meansure up to the hype.

Many don't.

punkpred 06-01-2010 02:06 PM

a 5-4 for england would be good all goals scored in the 2nd half after a boring first 45 minutes.

Spoken like a true Scot :error:error:error

If anyone wants to put their money on a US win, I'll happily take it off them :thumbsup

borked 06-01-2010 02:22 PM

And my prediction is 2 - 0

9 goals? LOL

I'm predicting it wraps up with a 2-1 USA win, with our last goal going in during the last mins of the match.

WC is great but to see really good entertaining football (soccer), the big european leagues are amazing (EPL, LaLiga, SerieA, etc). Hypothetically speaking, I think the top European teams on a club level (ManU, Chelsea, Inter, Barca, Real Madrid, etc) would beat the best world cup teams :2 cents:

CDSmith 06-01-2010 04:13 PM

I'm going to go with 3-0 England.

Just a feeling but I think this world cup will see a different English squad than previously seen.
(as in I see them doing quite well)

Dream on! 2 or 3 - nil is more likely. Its rather well known in football circles that the USA world ranking is artifically higher than it should be in an attempt to generate interest in football in the USA.

Lets be realistic, it will be a miracle if the US even advance to the second round.

mineistaken 06-01-2010 04:57 PM

3-0
England of course

Its funny looking at baseball "fans", it looks like they are watching a chess game. :1orglaugh

IllTestYourGirls 06-01-2010 05:13 PM

Are we talking about soccer?

scarlettcontent 06-01-2010 05:18 PM

3-1 England :)

Verbal 06-01-2010 08:27 PM

4-2 England

US defense is shaky at best.

fatfoo 06-01-2010 08:50 PM

I don't want to see a beheading in real life. A fake beheading is something that sells well. I have seen the following evidence of this:
1) A brazzers porn movie with a fake beheading
2) Karen O / Yeah Yeah Yeahs music video called "Heads will roll"
3) "Beheading of Russian soldier" video seen on Youtube or some other video site
4) Mortal Kombat beheadings and fatalities
5) The series Rome: beheading of thief by centurion

Chosen 06-01-2010 10:21 PM

I don't really care...

NickB. 06-01-2010 10:34 PM

I hope USA takes it

Yo Adrian 06-02-2010 10:48 AM

The U.S. embassy in South Africa played the England embassy 2 days ago... US prevailed, good omen :)
