Englane world cup Squad

http://www.goal.com/en-india/news/14...d-theo-walcott

Decent choice but Emile Heskey has only scored 3 times all season. I am a Villa fan and would not have picked him lol

And no Theo Walcott i would have thought he would go

Edit. Title: England world cup squad

CDSmith 06-01-2010 10:53 AM

No Beckham?

Out with a torn achilles tendon. DAMN that achilles.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/foo...es-tendon.html

This is tragic!

:D

Yo Adrian 06-01-2010 10:55 AM

Was surprised Capello left out Walcott too. Heskey, my guess is he was picked to come off the bench if needed.

It is but we sucked in the last 2 games we only beat Japan because they scored 2 own goals

i don't think you can take a friendly like that just before the world cup seriously, most of the players are running around scared of getting injured. we'll do ok, at least in the initial group stages.

seeandsee 06-01-2010 11:19 AM

Rooney is buster, but if he goes off, 1/4 is max

Scott McD 06-01-2010 11:34 AM

Heskey is fucking shit!

Never rated him as a player. Don't know how he has made as much money out of the game tbh...

Fbomb - BANNED FOR LIFE 06-01-2010 11:36 AM

Will choke in second round as usual.

Very true. Can't hold a team to the fire over a friendly this close to the wc

I was still looking forward to seeing him play.

marcop 06-02-2010 08:28 AM

I've never been a big fan of Emile Heskey... surely Darren Bent (with 24 goals this season in the EPL) would've been a better bet as the fourth striker?

ottopottomouse 06-02-2010 08:41 AM

So does this mean i'm up for a month of empty roads to whizz about on or is it a shit team that is just going to cause several hundred pubs to get smashed up?

Yeah us Dutchies are in that group as well.
Makes me wonder, did England suck that hard or was japan that strong?

michael.kickass 06-02-2010 09:50 AM

You play USA in the first game, I don't know about your chances but I'm positive you will advance to the second round.

yup, a scientific computer grid already calculated that England will lose to France in the quarter finals :disgust

However, said grid has no frikken idea how bad France have been lately :thumbsup

cwd 06-02-2010 10:39 AM

No way they make it past the 1/4's...of coarse, i just hope the US gets out of the group! lol
