Google May Day SERP changes
For guys targeting long tails, how are your rankings doing with the recent "May Day" search algo update by Google?
|
It's funny, our adult SEO traffic increased by roughly 30% over LY for terms between 3-6 words for May.

Mainstream projects are hurting though very hard

They hammered long tail searches quite hard. According to Matt Cutts, the algo change is permanent. The good news is that NICHE long tail search content which are written as resources for those LT terms are okay (think ehow.com). The bad news is this is a huge blog to LT "sniper" types of peripheral content

where did matt mutts say anything about mayday update and long tails ?
|
I haven't started my niche info site attack yet, but honestly I feel BETTER with this update, since in most cases long-tail keywords would be assigned an article about them, and the domain would likely have some of the words in the long-tail (the url, title, header etc. of course having all the words), so that update should remove some competitors hopefully.

If you need longtail custom content that is also geared to social media sites, hit me up. I hook you up long time!
