There are three Sprint stores, a Radio Shack and a Best Buy within ten minutes of my house and I am going to be hitting them up in that order until I find one that has it in stock. I tried to do a pre-order at one store last week and they said they weren't taking them, even though I read online that some stores were taking pre-orders. I seriously doubt that there are going to be Iphone like lines for this smartphone. Sprint hardly even advertised it to the mass market, although it did get a lot of accolades online.

I got my preorder in. Can't wait for my EVO.
|
I want one but I am not dealing with Sprint again. Fuck Sprint. Fuck them up their stupid asses.
|
It's already rooted and running 2.2 in the wild...
Should be fun for those who get it. |

The HTC Evo 4G (codename: Supersonic) is a smartphone developed by the HTC Corporation. A joint press release by HTC Corporation and Sprint Nextel was given on 23 March 2010 at the CTIA 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The smartphone will launch June 4th, 2010.
EVO is powered by a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor and runs the Android operating system, version 2.1. It includes a TFT LCD capacitive touchscreen screen, an 8-megapixel camera in the rear and a 1.3 megapixel camera in the front. The HTC Sense user interface will also be included. Good luck standing in line. |

I finally went to a Sprint store and tried to take it up with them. They were rude and unsympathetic. I was basically told to pay up before I incur late fees. That visit ended up with me being kicked out of the Sprint store because I was warning potential customers who were waiting. They did let me out of the contract and all roaming charges just to get rid of me though. |
I'll stick with my Incredible and hope for 2.2 soon. :)
|
It looks like a cool small colorful phone.
|
I'd have to switch to Verizon to get it and am possibly doing it but want to see the new iphone first.
oops mixed it up with the Incredible, that one looks incredible. |
Yes, I had them years ago and TONS of dropped calls and I talk to my buddy every day and every day his calls drop, he has Sprint.

I got it on Pre-order as well, trading in my Samsung Moment for it.
Also getting the new 4G Sprint aircard. It is going to ROCK! Note: I never had one dropped call through Sprint, yet. |
Here's the skivvy on the phone... I called Wirefly and they filled me in....
1) Extra mandatory $10/month on your bill for "rich content"...aka to use 4g. 2) For the phone to be a hotspot, you have to add another $30/month to your bill. 3) The phone is $299 with a $100 mail in rebate if you are a new customer 4) Old customers with no upgrade status will get the phone for $499 I work for Verizon and could get an Incredible (basically the same phone) cheap with my discount but I've been with Sprint for over a decade now and I don't want to switch. Here's Wirefly talking about the phone. |
I love my G1 android phone. I'm going to keep it until I break it, and get another android phone to replace it :thumbsup

2) Sure beats paying $60 a month for the Sprint Overdrive as I do now 3) Yep 4) I have to pay it, but its only $449 The Incredible is a nice phone, but to say its basically the same phone as the Evo is a real stretch.. The Evo has a bigger screen, front facing camera/videocamera, shoots HD video, 4G speed, dual flash, kickstand and quite a few other things the Incredible does not have. |
