Has anybody come across this?
A user of my forum has a bunch of broken hotlinked images attached to every post he makes.
Now the posts are on topic. I doubt a spammer would take the time to reply like that.
I've searched for that domain name and found these kind of posts on numerous other sites. All posts are on topic.

A typical post will look something like this:
Looks like some people got their computers infected with a virus that adds this shit to all forum posts.

this is the first time when I see this links :)

links redirect to a variety of sponsors.

site prob hacked then new spam links generated then spammed on forums.

drop them cookies son

Ban him .

Its a spammer. Ban him.

It's not links that are being posted on my forum and other forums.
I just took the above from another site.
It's embedded images on my forum.

That's the question. Is it a virus that adds the images to a person's posts?
Or did the guy register and took the time to leave replies manually to post his spam?
