Pelosi blames Bush administration for BP oil spill.
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., blamed the Bush administration for any lack of oversight leading up to the Gulf oil spill. The Obama administration, on the other hand, is blameless.
“Many of the people appointed in the Bush administration are still burrowed in the agencies that are supposed to oversee the [oil] industry,” Pelosi said when asked if Democrats could have prevented or mitigated the crisis by keeping a closer watch on the industry. Added the Speaker, “the cozy relationships between the Bush administration’s agency leadership and the industry is clear…I’ve heard no complaints from my members about the way the president has handled it,” Pelosi stated. why - because Halliburton is Cheneys lovechild and is by incident also the company who fucked up the process that caused the catastrophy?
|
by politicizing the issue, she's now made the catastrophe about the obama admin. you can't have one admin involved and the next not involved.
nice work, nanc! |

i thought the buck stopped with obama?

Does blaming the oil spill on Bush mean that we can blame 9/11 on Clinton?
Always blaming someone. It doesn't even matter whose fault it was. Get the damn thing fixed, make sure it doesn't happen again, and move forward. Bush is out of office, enough complaining about a man that hasn't written his own name in 18 months. |

I just wish someone would plug her blowhole..

Sounds like the proper direction to point the finger to me... only so much Obama should take responsibility for - the reason it happened is dang sure not one of them.
None of that makes a diff now though.. |

and the real estate crisis .. and so on ... |
Is it possible that maybe it was just a tragic accident and no one is really to blame?
|
that's how things work in real world, when something goes wrong, you always blame the guy who was in charge before you....

Blaming the past administration probably will work until the final month of the second year of any new administration. After that, its all about taking the bull by the horns--taking responsibility or getting ready to be replaced.

I hate that bitch.
|
Interesting. This oil spill is an abyss.
|
Wowser. Wow. Wow. Lotta poli-smack being laid down and lots of hating on "that bitch". Nice. Fact: Cheney and oil co CEOs crafted current regulation, and hand picked the staff at MMS. Policies and a staff that the Obama administration was clearly too slow to clean up. Jn addition to BP, the real villain here is the "drill here drill now" crowd, which hates regulation but runs from the the consequences of deregulation. This is the same bunch that is making sure our response to the financial crisis is purely cosmetic. After running the country - and the government - into the ground under Bush, these same cynics would like to go back to work with policies that have been tried and failed. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
