gfy hate/trolling

i must be getting old. i am so over that era it's kind of funny.

why does everyone have to chew on everyone elses ass? i admit i was a party to it, years ago. now, nothing. i don't get it. maybe it's because i'm 37 and i am at the point where i can chill for the rest of my life. but i don't think that is honestly it. people that are constantly pissed, will always be pissed. working at wendys or making a million a year. doesn't matter at all.

society, and societal pressures are a funny thing.

even more interesting is removing societal pressures... and leaving you with places like gfy. disccuss :)

quiet 05-29-2010 05:01 PM

my spelling sucks. sorry.

AdPatron 05-29-2010 05:06 PM

Do you know any other industry that communicates as well?

Minte 05-29-2010 05:07 PM

It's Obama's fault! :)

cherrylula 05-29-2010 05:08 PM

I completely agree. It takes way too much energy to hate. I have way better things to do.

This place is like make believe, and people get so crazy and want to argue it is funny.

Brujah 05-29-2010 05:08 PM

I used to be really interested in roleplay gaming, and spent a lot of time in a community devoted to it. I'm not anymore and don't expect them to change based on me.

You've outgrown it, and aren't involved with the industry to the point that it affects you. It's arrogant if you think about it to expect the community to change with you. Why not just spend time on a forum that caters to your new interests or new lifestyle? This is "Go Fuck Yourself."

dropped9 05-29-2010 05:08 PM

Dont put too much thought into it really. With a name like gofuckyourself you attract pyschos in their moms basement who have nothing better to do with themselves.

Barefootsies 05-29-2010 05:13 PM

"When you hate the only one who suffers is you.

Because half the people don't know it and the other half don't care."

:2 cents:

i'm still involved (not as much as i used to, but still push the old traffic), and i find gfy quite entertaining. i just was making a comment on how ridiculous it all is. particularily all the the trolling and hate. zero arrogance.

Being angry or hating other people is much to exhausting. I try to chill out first when somebody piss me off.

Barefootsies 05-29-2010 05:47 PM

I've never understood it myself to be honest.

As I have said many times, I frankly find it hard to believe successful business owners have time for hating and trolling strangers on message boards. When was the last time you have see Shemp, Shap, Eric, Brad/MOJO, among other industry leaders, and BROgram owners wasting their time trolling complete strangers?

Most people who are actually making their millions, or are successful are not going to waste their time doing that shit. They would be out either making more money, running a successful business, or enjoying life spending their money.

While there may be a lone exception here and there. The vast majority have better things to do with their free time and life. Honestly, I find it pretty telling of that person's business, and social life, when they follow people from board to board, or spend all their free time harassing people they do not like.

I'm with you on this man. Arguing with haters, stalkers, thieves & trolls just ain't no fun anymore. Sure, it was fun back in the day, but one day you wake up and realize that arguing with retards about shit that don't make no difference anyway is a real waste of time & resources. It took me way too long to figure this out but I finally did :winkwink:

This is assuming that the hater has something constructive and intelligent to say...most don't :thumbsup

Babaganoosh 05-29-2010 06:54 PM

Without trying to become an example of the point this thread is trying to make, do you ever start a thread without mentioning that you're "set for life"?

Really, you're filthy rich. We get it.

Shit. if I was set for life I'd make a habit of pointing it out on a regular basis.

It's a great shorthand way to say, "I'm much smarter and luckier than you and thus, I can spend the rest of my life far from the gerbil wheel of the world of work. Sucks to be you, rules to be me."

Point taken but the relevant part of the blog post that addresses that is as follows:
Quote:

Let their negativity and discouragement force you to react in a positive way ? There are two types of people?proactive people and reactive people. That?s human nature. You can?t change it. Either you?re proactive or you?re reactive?with varying shades in between. There?s no good or bad in this division. Just know that if you?re a REACTIVE person, you can use that to your advantage. You can interpret the criticisms as forcing your ego into a corner. From this corner, you are forced, due to the reactive makeup of your personality, to react in a productive way. By being insulted, a FIGHT mentality ensues and you use this energy to prove your critics wrong. Their hate just makes you stronger and you rise above their negativity. In essence, they pushed you to become a stronger, better, faster, and more efficient YOU. In order to do this, you must learn to channel the negative energy from your detractors into a usable form?many people just let it get to them and discourage them. It?s okay to get upset?just channel it into ?I?ll show them? instead of ?Why me?? or ?They are F?d up, why can?t they accept me or what I?m doing??

Nysus 05-29-2010 08:02 PM

Pretty sure you've fairly recently gotten your laugh posts in on some hate posts. Just saying..

DateDoc 05-29-2010 09:09 PM

If someone hates on you ignore them. If someone makes fun of you laugh with them. Both will have the opposite effect of what the hater intended.

A wise man once told me that he who is without haters is without success.

Most of my haters have been banned, so I'm working on a new crop.

dude, put it on that list of things you need to do before you die.

http://www.barilamai.com/

for asia, the access is incredibly easy. fly to bangkok, spend a night or two there, and then head to rayong. you will sweat around 5 buckets of sweat on the way, but then it's just nothing but re lax ation.

culture shock if you haven't been to thailand before, but it's awesome after you get bored of all the can/us/aus/brit retards that infest many other areas. it's calm, and there is no annoying tourists. amazing food too, the seafood is crazy good.

hating is just a waste of energy...why should anyone care what anyone else is saying or doing unless its directly effecting you...time and energy should be spend being postive and focused on growing your own business whatever it is you do

quiet 05-29-2010 10:59 PM

ah, the concorde. it was quite a ride. too bad i have many people here that can vouch for me. and yes, i own a million dollar home, as well as a c4s. about to buy an r8. enjoy yourselves. i feel a bump coming on.

quiet 05-30-2010 12:25 AM

whistler creekside, before all the village bs of whistler proper. quieter, and more chilled. van, hmm just start a thread, there are a ton of people who live there, i prefer the 'bubble' as they call whistler. van is an entire different osyster. i like yaletown, but i'm an idiot in terms of van, and don't know what's good for long term living. i just don't hang out enough in van to give you a good opinion. make a thead on here, you will get a ton of responses most likely.

cheers.
