[WTB] Anyone have a POF clone?

I don't have a packaged script for sale but I have built two custom dating sites if you decide to go that route. The ones I built already have all the features you require apart from the GEO Landing, which i would have no problem doing.

Anyway just thought I would mention it, obviously a more expensive option. Plenty of customizable dating and social media scripts out there though :-)

Have you considered scripts like PHPFox or SocialEngine which both can be set up as dating sites. PHPFox also has a pretty active community of developers including myself who are happy to do custom work, although the majority of the time there is probably already a mod or addon out that will do what you need.

I want to point out I still think custom is better

(don't want to put myself out of work)

Yes, I have several socialengine licenses and I am not sure it could handle big traffic too well.

I can vouch for PHPFox on the traffic front I have worked on quite a few high traffic sites, but there is obviously going to be a lot of unnecessary code in any off the shelf script which will require additional resources, but far from finding the perfect script that only contains all the features you need there isn't really a way round this.

I would also guess any cheap or free clone type scripts are going to contain things you don't necessarily need or want in them.

Anyway I hope you find something

Check out http://www.boonex.com/ for Dolphin 7 or http://elgg.org for another open source social networking package. They aren't clones, but anything open source can be made into whatever you want. ;)
