Good email client for POP, outlook alternative?

Outlook is giving me problems and is annoying as hell. Whats the email client the cool kids are using now a days? Oh and theres no paid option or anything for gmail that downloads pop in realtime is there?

I got burned by Outlook and moved everything to Google mail. You can set Google up with your own POP mail accounts and no one knows the difference.

Mozilla indeed

Gmail automatically downloads your email as soon as it comes in.

Trust me, try it. You can even move all your old saved Outlook email to Gmail and can have access to all your email from any computer anywhere in the world.

I've backed myself out of the Cloud. I don't trust it.

Years ago I used Eudora, other than gmail I wouldn't know what the "cool" kids are using. Still stuck on Outlook myself.

Thunderbird's new account detection feature is pretty neat.

Thunderbird on my usb stick but ordinary outlook express otherwise. Havn't got office installed and when I did before I wasn't keen on outlook.

Gmail takes up to an hour to download new pop emails...

Thunderbird for PC... It's far from "great" but it's the best that's out there IMO... and I've tried them all out...

I'd also recommend switching to IMAP if that's within your reach :P
