I ride my bike through National Swamp Preserves every day and it is sad to see federally protected areas being destroyed by this.

Places I grew up seeing are being destroyed, Grand Isle beaches closed covered in oil - Plaqumines 24 miles of dead zone now.

I helped campaign for Billy when I was volunteering in Plaquemines.
Its beautiful down there. The marsh is already disappearing down there, if the oil kills all the vegetation will be nothing to hold the mud in place. Billy actually made his fortune by catering food to the oil rigs. ;).

i don't understand why they would not suck on the oil stream coming out of that hole with beasts similar to one in the pic below in order to prevent such a huge spill into ocean while looking for more solid solutions

at this point it seems it would be many times cheaper to put any amount of these vacuums around from the beginning or even now than what its going to cost them and everyone around with fucking up environment.

I think the government should be able to seize all of BP's assets and take over efforts themselves... seems BP's only goal is to minimize media outcry and protect their bottom line.
