Half young people in UK don't recognise Winston Churchill
 

One in five (19 per cent) adults failed to name Churchill, with the figure rising to 32 per cent of 25 to 34-year-olds and 44 per cent of those aged 16 to 24.

Not surprising at all. Although it may be something new for the UK.

I would shudder at most Americans and their lack of the most basic of history knowledge.

Doesn't surprise me though even if it is a Daily Fail story. Most of their stuff seems to be intentional trolling so that they get a billion comments on every article.

Seeing as I went to the Imperial War Museum in London last week and there were some schoolkids (looked about 15) looking at the sections of the Berlin Wall they have got there and not having a clue what it was I bet most people don't know what this poster is about either

Young Brits here live in their own imagination world (sex, drugs and party all the time). They know nothing about the world. I feel like fucking old sage among them.

Churchill was a quote factory, that guy was the man :)

And haggis is awesome, I love it. I happened to be in Scotland on January 25th and had to try it!

Which means that 4 out of 5 could identify him. Which, if I am not mistaken would be a majority.

Are they total dumb asses? I know who is he from 2-3 grade if not earlier

Crazy! Since a few days ago I use pics of Churchill in my MSN and Facebook. I always liked how Churchill looked with those hats, cigarres and making the V with his hand. In all this time very few people asked who was that man. And I am talking about people out of Europe.

By the way, I read also about a similar research from Germany that said a big percentage of german young people didn´t know what Auschwitz was...

But do they know who Winston Zeddemore is ??
