Do the thumbnails look shitty
 

Hi All

I'm can't get the file size down on my gallery pages

These are some thumbs from galleries I'm working on.
Do they look to shitty?

I think they look ok, but will they stop tgp's from listing the gallery? More important, will they hurt conversions?

Actually, those look pretty good to me.

I have been out of the game for a few years, but I used Macromedia Fireworks to compress images. It batches them as well, so if you have a directory full of them it does it pretty quick.

Do they still make that program?

If you want smaller file sizes, don't use a WYSIWYG editor, use Notepad.

I'm using photoshop and doing all the work by hand- not smart, but I don't make a lot of galleries,

I only have 43 more thumbs untill I'm done for the night.

Look about right to me in size.

Whether you use Photoshop or some thumbnail-maker, you are limited by the quality of the original. If you start playing around with default settings, trying to save 1-2k per image, THAT'S when your thumbs start to degrade noticably. The thumbs on that page are fine, not fuzzy at all. :thumbsup

paid content sucks, you need to resize,cut,compress even use filters. I'm using pre-made content available for free in the web.

LOL, Thats classic good luck man I use Unlead Smart Saver Pro to compress images, but the ones I give to webmasters I do not compress most like to do it themselves.
