I've never dealt with choopa, but had a server with the planet about 5-6 years ago. Never had any problems with them.

I've had an unmanaged server (upgraded once to better hardware) with The Planet for about 8 years. No problems at all and they'll jump in and help when requested, even though it's unmanaged.

Last month I approached them and requested an account audit because I wanted either better hardware or better price to compete with their current plans/specials/etc. and they cut my monthly price in half :thumbsup

CHOOPA hosts many of the most popular adult industry tubes. Other that that, no idea about them. ThePlanet is one of the larger web hosting companies available.

We use Choopa... honestly the best service i've ever used.

mikke,

Just out of curiosity, why is it that you're comparing these two particular hosts?

kada 05-16-2010 01:31 PM

if you dont know how to manage ur server.. stay far away from the planet.. i never used choopa, so dont know.

fatfoo 05-16-2010 01:46 PM

Are you talking about choopa.com? I never used it.

I have a server with Choopa. They have been awesome. If I need something done they get it taken care of fast. Two thumbs up for Choopa.

BlackCrayon 05-16-2010 02:09 PM

Im thinking move from hivelocity due to huge packet losses in last weeks - today i noticed 30% of packet losses (sent over 5k packets)..

I know the planet for long time as good company but not cheap, choopa has lower pings to europe.
And im thinking to move my servers to one of this DC - choopa or tp, what i need:
- stable lines, packet loss free
- good & fast support - sometimes tech in dc must go to box and see why my server is dead and fix it asap, cus i couldnt do it remote, and i dont wanna wait 24h to reply from tech dep.

thats why im wondering how many good opinions will take tp and choopa..

I use choopa

I wouldn't stay for ten minutes if they didn't give me the best price and great service. We manage our own servers...but anytime we need something on their end done they answer me within a couple of minutes and work with me to solve the few problems we've ever had (which would be the occasional hardware failure or a ddos attack)

Can't beat the price and the professionalism and service.

AdPatron 05-16-2010 05:19 PM

My sites are with the planet.

Most of my stuff is with ISPrime. However, I have a fully managed server with Choopa and I must admit that they are a hidden gem. Both the tech support, customer service and price point is wonderful. They earned my business.

I had a backup server (unmanaged) with The Planet (from the EV1 days). They didn't want to give me any help when the O/S got compromised.

My vote is for Choopa.

+1 for Choopa :) Let me know when you have a chance to discuss what we can offer you:

theplanet gets expensive if you need managed services Choopa includes management with most servers i would go with Choopa out of those 2 personally.

Anything BUT choopa!
