Well, they can't hit every one of their new sites and inventions out of the park.

The phone is awesome. Puts the current iPhone to shame, that's for sure.

The idea of buying a phone and choosing your carrier after the fact is a nice idea, but not something Americans seem to be ready for yet.

I wouldn't say that's the right way to word it... It's hard for anyone to justify paying $600 for a phone, when you can get a similar phone for $2-300 with a contract. No one is used to shelling out that kind of money for something they will probably drop in the urinal 6 months from now :1orglaugh

Not a fail - they accomplished quite a bit.

For a while they had one of the top phones in the market.

They sold quite a few of these phones through their online stores. It just turns out that people feel more comfortable with a phone if they can actually hold the thing in their hands. Also, they did no offline advertisements, and just a few text links on their homepage and elsewhere.

Being locked to one single plan with T-Mobile kept me from buying the phone. If I could have bought it with a family plan I'd have had an N1 for months now!

at $600 it was a fail from the get go - sales never took off. They FAILED!

They should have sold these at a loss.. or no profit at least.

I'd rather use Wirefly and get a great phone for $19.95.
