It seems alink for WP is not available anymore... Whats the next best (free) plugin that does similar autolinking for wp blogs??

All these real-time plugins make your blog slower. Slower blog => lower position in Google SERP's.

If you want to hotlink phrases in your blog/splog posts, you have to do it only once then they get composed or syndicated.
