FACT: Alcohol is a waste of time, money and health

However, I choose to continue drinking.

marcop 05-12-2010 12:59 PM

I feel your pain.

Platinumpimp 05-12-2010 01:03 PM

They actually say, if not drinking excessively, it does benefit the health reducing the risk of a hearth disease.

I love to drink a beer from time to time.

So do i. :glugglug

Seriously though, people who don't drink end up being so anti-social, it's unreal. If they do actually go to party's etc instead of staying in, they just end up feeling so out of place by the time everyone else is drunk and having fun, that they just want to go home.

I don't care what anyone says, sober people end up back on the drink soon enough because they only end up miserable anti-social assholes... :winkwink:

I was anti-social when I drank, and I still am. :disgust

Adam X 05-12-2010 01:09 PM

There are no ugly girls in this world, just guys that are not drinking enough. Proved!

Tom_PM 05-12-2010 01:25 PM

So, if you guilt or cajole a non drinker to come to the bar with you and then they dont drink and you want to say "ah you anti social asshole", then..... weird.

mattz 05-12-2010 01:26 PM

this thread really delivers

Arnox 05-12-2010 01:28 PM

Never drunk, never will.

RyuLion 05-12-2010 01:28 PM

I have been drinking since 18 and have been very healthy all my life.

only twice I've had the fever, and still haven't had to go to the Hospital.

US Hospitals can kiss my ass.

Thats true, but it slowly kills your brain at the same time. Even if drinking just the small "healthy" amounts. Everything has a pro and contra, obviously. :)

fatfoo 05-12-2010 01:29 PM

Good luck with your drinking problem.

You better start saving up for a lifetime hospital stay when you are over 50, all the stuff you do while beeing young will show itself when you reach a certain age. All of it adds up.

Speaking as an ex-professional drinker and the reigning Anti-Social King, I was so anti-social I never went to bars back in the day either. I drank at home.

I've never felt bars were so much about the drinking, as they are social outlets. If you're anti-social, you don't go to bars. It's kind of the definition of anti-social. Drinking at a bar is expensive as well. No self-respecting drunk would pay bar prices. To quote the late great George Thorogood, "I drink alone."

If you are convinced one way or the other into going to the bar in the first place, you are being social. The drinking is irrelevant. Unless it's business related. Then you get your anti-social ass over to the bar and drink whatever it takes. :2 cents:

MrBottomTooth 05-12-2010 01:38 PM

I quit drinking on April 30 and haven't touch a drop since. At this point I am thinking I will just not bother talking to any of my old friends anymore since all we do is drink.

As a matter of fact, one of my friends just got an impaired driving charge on Saturday night. (read it online in the local police report).

I'm just tired of it.:disgust

Doing something you enjoy is very rarely a waste of time or money. Don't go overboard, no problem.

We have money so that we can do the things we enjoy.

smutnut 05-12-2010 01:45 PM

When you can afford booze, drugs and hookers, you have a whole different outlook on it!

Exactly brutha. :thumbsup

I didn't go from being Public Drunk #1 to a complete teetotaler. There's a line between normal enjoyment and suicide. These days I enjoy a couple bottles of light beer a week, or maybe a glass of wine. That's normal enjoyment. As compared to a liter of premium tequila daily. (those were some wild fucking years... glad I don't remember them.)

But I also don't believe it has to be so black & white as society presents it. It IS entirely possible to control ones self, even though society at large would have you believe it's not. Society wants us to believe that, once you've crossed the line, you no longer have any self control and require tortuous group meetings that pound "God" into your head, and / or some sort of lifelong medication.

And I say, they're fucking wrong. And I'm going to prove it.

arock10 05-12-2010 01:52 PM

don't forget its awesome too!

Choopa Phil 05-12-2010 01:54 PM

i drink pretty rarely, but i go out to parties and bars and have just as good of a time than anyone else. Its really fun to observe

Nothing since christmas :)

Felt a bit like something was missing on my birthday though.

woj 05-12-2010 02:01 PM

nothing wrong with alcohol in moderation... :thumbsup

CunningStunt 05-12-2010 02:07 PM

According to the medical professionals, I drink 3 times the recommended maximum each week.

They would have us believe 2 beers per night is the max you should consume. I don't buy it.

You can't trust anybody that doesn't drink. True story.

Rochard 05-12-2010 03:43 PM

I quit drinking about two years ago. It's comical now to go to shows and watch people get fucked up.

mmcfadden 05-12-2010 05:35 PM

Drinking and making money go hand in hand. I used to give half my money to the ex. The other half went to booz. Now I make a lot more and drinking has never felt better. Actually time for a five o'clock...
