WTF: Jane Burgess - why do you have Verotel club while doing CCBill affiliate program?
 

I was about to join you program when I saw this.

I think that’s a shave, unless you have some king of link between ccbill and verotel.

You'd be S.O.L. however, she has a back up processor and you can't fault her for that. However, sounds like she needs to add in NATS or something for full affiliate tracking and payouts.

Oops, not good. It's not the only problem either, there are other traffic leaks.

Did you check to see if she has a different tour set up just for affiliates? I know I have set my tours up like this in the past.

I figured as much. Just wanted to throw that out there just to be sure.

Not that we needed much to verify that JaneB and whoever works on her site aren't the brightest of bulbs.

yes the ccb button have to be bigger. any i think people preffer ccbill so only few will choose vero instead of ccb. and vero will choose those who have problems with ccbill, and if there will be no vero button, there will be no sale. so, i dont care much. i think there are much bigger problems with sponsors than this

kind of hard to "guess" how big of an impact it might be without knowing the numbers. Having 2 join buttons , one that gives the affiliate credit and one that doesnt is basically theft.:2 cents:

Well that sucks but the best thing to do then is join MY program. My stuff converts better anyway, it's all CCBill, you'll get paid and you'll be happier then.

Havent they been around forever?

This "two processors but only one is linked to the affiliate program" sales leak is unfortunately very very common at small programs. There's no real excuse for it in a NATS world. Also, CCBill makes it easy to set up links that cascade through CCBill to a secondary processor.

This is just something that affiliates have to check at every new site. Small programs either don't understand or don't care that it's unacceptable to affiliates.

I am glad you guys have nothing better to worry about then the fact that I have both CCBill and Verotel as options for people to sign up under. There is nothing wrong with either company. Fbomb, thanks for the heads up, and we appreciate the notice. We just complteted, although from your post, not quite yet, transition from verotel to ccbill. icq me, i'll take care of you. The join buttons and relevant pages have been changed now, and you can be certain there are no more leaks. We are going through every page now to ensure that.

Considering that the person who posted this thread is interested in promoting your website, he better be worried about it. Why push traffic to a website that has a leak that you would not get payout for potential sign ups? If it was you in their shoes, would you worry, would you even bother promoting a site like that?

I dont care about all people that sign up, I care about making my cut from those that I sent to your site. I dont want to send traffic and get zero credit for it.

The issue is already fixed. I appreciate you pointing it out. It was a mistake that was corrected and the affiliate program is only CCBill now.

It's not just new sites either. Established programs still add additional processors to the join page even now. :(

There are still loads of traffic leaks on the site. Are there plans to make it leak free for affiliates?

There are still alternative non-ccbill join options also. Don't no if they cascade or not somehow. Doesn't look like it.

I don't deal with affiliate stuff or the running of programs but from a content shooter point of view, they have got some KILLER talent.

All your review site buttons on the main page are leaks...and that's just the beginning.

If you had any sense, you'd have an alternate, no leaks whatsoever, tour for affiliates to promote.

The initial defensive answer and continuing cluelessness about traffic leaks is, sadly, normal for far too many do-it-yourself program owners. You usually see it when they transition a niche paysite into an affiliate program, but don't stop to consider that all the bizarre links and detours (clipsforsale links, DVDs by mail, link trades on the tour pages, toplist links, toy story white labels, all that stuff) that was fine for their own traffic (well, probably a bad idea actually, but whatever) is death to affiliate conversion.

First they say "traffic leaks?" what's a traffic leak?" and then they start getting huffy and defensive.

Sadly you have to watch even the biggest programs for this. Some months back I started noticing Stockroom toy links on my Kink.com tours. Of course when I wrote in, I learned that it was a temporary oversight and being removed from the tours being shown to affiliate traffic. Kink.com being what it is, that happened very fast once I complained. But you've got to stay alert.

It's basically what everyone else has pointed out. I didn't look in detail, but I spotted the review links, all the banners in your, 'links' page and I am seeing another couple of processors on the join page in addition to CCBill.
