Please explain me reseller hosting accounts. I need help.

Here are the terms:

• Webspace: 20GB
• Bandwidth: 350GB per month
• Unlimited addon domains, parked domains, subdomains, mail accounts, mail forwarders, autoresponders, FTP accounts + much more!
• Overselling Enabled

Now, this is to resell 20GB of space and 350GB of bandwidth? Thats it? 20GB hard drive and thats all?

Most control panels used have user level and reseller level for shared environments, which allows you to break up the resources to additional accounts you create, thus allowing you to "resell" resources from your plan if you wish. Regular user level accounts don't have that ability.

I highly doubt their intent is for you to resell the 20 GB of space. The reseller account allows you to manage your individual domains/users.

If you have a provider that allows overselling than you can set up plans that have more space and bandwidth than your total plan allows. This is based on the theory that your client will not use the space and bandwidth given. If you have a reseller account that does not allow overselling, then you have no way to make the plans any larger than your total allowed.

But, yes, that is it 20GB or whatever the plan you choose in total, when the space is used you are out and would have to upgrade.

If you are interested in reselling I would recommend a dedicated server which will allow you much more control. They are very inexpensive these days :)

That's what I figured. Nothing really to resell when you have that much HD space and bandwidth. I was just wondering how some of those guys can resell small hosting accounts at $20 a year with 20 gig HF and 300 Bandwidth.

That is what it says - 20GB, yes. However, 20GB is a big amount. Maybe you can divide it into 10 and resell 2GB space to 10 different people - this could make more sense.

Everything that you say makes more sense, fatfoo. Next time if I have any questions I will ask you directly.

divide 20gb to 500mb space and you can make 40 resseler accs with 500mb space and 10gb band, if you have chunk of people you can double your investment for start ;)

I have several reseller accounts and this is just it. I host about 40 websites for main stream companies in these reseller accounts. What costs me about $50 a month I turn around and make $400 a month on. And the best part is I have room for more, so the more I can sell/host, the more profit I could make.
