Today is my daughter's 12th birthday and for some damn reason I thought it was tomorrow...

Now I have to improvise ... something.

Anyone have any suggestions?

List taken from Googling

1. Dance Maker Double Wave. This is a totally cool game for twelve year old girls, especially when getting together with friends or having a slumber party. The girls wave their hands through the light sensor and then follow the flashing lights with their hands and feet. The Dance Maker Double Wave also teaches dance moves with its 12 dance sequences.

2. FunSlides Carpet Skates. Any twelve year old girl will find these skates totally awesome. The skates have a friction-resistant plastic base for fast and easy gliding on any carpet. For cool fun, groups of twelve year old girls can get together for a game of carpet soccer or hockey.

3. Box of Bunco. Believe it or not, Bunco has been around since the 1800s. Today, this progressive dice game remains as popular as ever. The object of the game is to roll three-of-a-kind of the target number. The Box of Bunco includes the game bell, three different colored sets of dice and a score pad. The game is great for twelve year old girls because it can accommodate up to 12 players.

4. TV Star Video Camcorder. Twelve year old girls love to perform, so instead of them using a fake microphone in front of a mirror, the TV Star Video Camcorder lets them record their performance and play it back on a VCR. Twelve year old girls can also make their own music videos, movies and TV shows. The color camera is of high quality and comes with a variety of special effects lenses.

5. iMove Lounger. Every twelve year old girl needs a special place in their room where they can just sit and listen to music or cuddle up with a good book. One popular item is the iMove Lounger, which comes with a mini
jack iPod hook-up. It's made from a soft vinyl fabric for comfort and easy cleaning.

6. 3-D Space Projector. This is a really cool item because it projects full color 3D images of planets, comets and other space objects on the walls and ceilings of any room. A twelve year old girl will also enjoy the 3-D Space Projector's "Journey Into Space" CD audio tour and the 3D glasses that come with the projector. It's a great gift and a wonderful way for twelve year olds to learn more about space.

7. 20 Questions Handheld Game. This is a bit like Truth or Dare, a popular game among twelve year olds, but even better. To play, a girl thinks of something and then answers a series of 20 questions. After the last question, the answer will appear. But if 20 Questions is unable to guess what you're thinking, you win. It's great fun, especially when a group of twelve year old girls play.

8. Girl Crush Airbrush Tattoo. Drawing ink symbols or sayings on hands, nails, or ankles is the "in" thing among twelve year old girls. With Girl Crush Airbrush Tattoo from Spin Master Toys, they can spray on their tattoo design and wash it off with soap and water when they want to change it. The kit comes with an airbrush tool, five colors, 20 reusable stencils, accent glitter gel and gems

9. Cranium Turbo Edition. Anything made by Cranium is going to bring lots of fun for all ages. But Cranium Turbo Edition is great for twelve year old girls because it takes the basic Cranium to a whole new level with fast paced action. Included are 1,000 new cards and 16 activities that range from sculpting to guessing. Two great activities is Word Worm where the player has to spell the word backwards and Star Performer, where you have to hum or whistle the response. It's a great activity for twelve year olds, especially on rainy days.

10. iQuest Interactive Talking Handheld. You can't go wrong with any interactive activity from LeapFrog Toys. The iQuest Interactive Talking Handheld is ideal for twelve year old girls because it provides studying help with interactive audio quiz games and printable chapter outlines based on their school's textbooks. In addition, iQuest is a personal organizer with an address book, calendar, calculator and dictionary.

Good luck!

JA$ON 05-11-2010 08:40 AM

CASH, CASH, CASH

Its what I wanted at 12, that way I could pool all the money I got and get a bigger gift nobody would get me on their own

TeenCat 05-11-2010 08:40 AM

order clown online and tell him to bring some gifts

kristin 05-11-2010 10:42 AM

Agree with Wizzo - iPod Touch.

The iTouch's largest demographic is kids 13-17 years old. Hell, my five and six year old love the iTouch.

DateDoc 05-11-2010 10:48 AM

iPad! :)

Elli 05-11-2010 10:52 AM

12th? Buy her a pony? That's what I wanted. Or a nice bike?

iSpyCams 05-11-2010 10:55 AM

Get her a puppy. My daughters birthday was yesterday. (she didnt get a puppy though)

ProG 05-11-2010 10:58 AM

Get her a shirt that has her birthday printed on it so you never forget again...

leedsfan 05-11-2010 11:06 AM

ipad or a Camcorder.

Roald 05-11-2010 11:06 AM

Take her shopping, tell her that instead of buying her a gift yourself, which she probably doesn't really wanted anyway, she can now pick her own!!

Congrats!

:thumbsup Good Idea!

fatfoo 05-11-2010 11:15 AM

Perhaps she would like a cash payment instead of receiving a gift she doesn't want.

Spend a ton of money on her, take the day off work, and give her the birthday she will never forget.

~Ray 05-11-2010 11:57 AM

tell her the truth, give her a hug and take her shopping. Seems like a great chance to spend the day with her.

MetaMan 05-11-2010 12:17 PM

Spoil her rotten with gifts and spend 0 time with her so she grows up with man issues thinking she is a princess.

No, sorry. A 12 year old girl is already thinking like a woman. You don't tell women the truth, not about forgetting their special days, anyway.

And a shopping trip is already something they expect and take for granted. It doesn't replace a gift, which shows thoughtfulness and concern.

Best suggestion, just give her cash in a b-day card and tell her she's a big girl now and she can choose her own gift :winkwink: :winkwink:

Well she already had school, badmington and pool scheduled... didn't have much time for daddy and I was working...

So shopping sounds like the best idea... gonna run it by her when she gets back from the pool...

and for the record I didn't forget her birthday, it's just that it landed in the middle of a school week and I was going to party it last weekend but since all friends are off visiting Moms and Grandmoms, we shuffled off to next weekend...

And my puter was a day off :P fuck

:D
