WTH do UNEMPLOYED people do all day?
 

My 4 month old Alienware M15X turned into a brick a few nights ago after loading up Crysis (motherboard and PS supposedly being fitted here tonight, both fried), so instead of using one of the spare machines, I thought I'd try living the unemployed lifestyle for a day.

So far I've:

Drank 2 pots of coffee
Dropped my wife off at the shops
Spanked the monkey
Posted a few things on the boards
Played the PS3 for an hour

I got so bored I even started weeding the garden just now. It's not even lunch time yet either.

What the hell do unemployed people do all day, it would drive me nuts loafing around each and every day. It's a mindset / lifestyle I could never participate in. I guess it's similar to being retired, I don't think that's going to sit well with me either. :pimp

My brother has been employed for about six months. He drinks and reads. That's it.

I have a few friends who are unemployed right now. They don't do jack shit. They sit around the house all day and watch Magnum PI and Rockford Files.

I can't imagine what life would be like not working towards something. I mean, I fantasize about retiring and going to tahiti and being fanned by monekys, but broke and unemployed, fuck. I imagine it would be like being a kid again during summer vacation, only you're stuck at home with no money and all your friends are out doing better things.

Seems to me if you were unemployed you would be trying to avoid shopping, not letting your wife loose at the shops.

Okay, two things here:
1. 'weeding the garden' is just too damn funny on many, many levels
2. I would imagine most unemployed people would surf GFY and read CunningStunt posts all day long (it's what I do)

So did your day "off" make you want to work MORE or take more days off?

I've never been unemployed in 20 years since finishing my degree. I see what you mean though.

Ate some lunch, had a nap, read a chapter...man that life must suck after a very short while.

It IS irritating, isn't it? Just before a holiday you can be so sick of work you can't stand another second in front of a monitor. But then, a couple days off, maybe a few, and you start to remember all the shit you have to fucking DO and you get antsy. Lovely cycle, this online business.

One of my buddies have been unemployed for at least a year now, maybe ever 18 months. He basically runs around fuckingchicks who are recently divorced and we went to high school with. Also fishing and playing those Facebook games ALL FUCKING DAY. I do mean literally.

i do try to get out around town, read books, play with my dogs, but mostly i end up sitting at my desk working day and night..

Isn't Unemployment actually insurance/fund which both employee and employer pay into.
