I cant find a Mustang in Montreal

Ive been shoping for a 99-02 Mustang GT 4.6 for the past 2 months. Still have not found what I really like. Either they are automatic or high milage.

If anyone knows someone getting rid of one, let me know. It HAS to be manual, coupe or convertable and has to have a V8. Keep in mind I live in Montreal Canada, I would consider buying a U.S. car if the drive is not to far to go take a look.

thx,
Ray

The border is there for a reason. Stay on your side.

Ray@TastyDollars 12-30-2002 11:31 AM

Just keep sending the U.S checks :)

As long as you stay on your side, everything is cool and the checks will continue.

64 1/2. The FIRST Mustang...Loud and gas guzzlin, but damn, they're sweet beasties. :thumbsup

Ray@TastyDollars 12-30-2002 11:38 AM

There would be nothing more that I'd want then a 66 or 67 fastback, however since I need a daily driver...a 99-02 it is.

Since we're in the topic. I once owned an 88LX and dumped in a 351windsor from a 69 Mach 1. That was one fast fucker, it dyno tested at 437hp at the rear weels WITHOUT NOS, with the NOW I added 100hp to that. It ran 10.96@121mph!!! Oh yea , the good old days!!

A stang. Wow, sorry buddy. I can't believe you actually want one. Why??? Such a shitty car, unless it's an old Fastback, it's just not worth it.

Well the best place I can think of to look for one would be in Laval, and a bit further north from there like Ste-Therese and Mirabel.

good luck.

I disagree, I have an '01 Bullitt. And I love everything about this car. It has the look of a classic muscle car, with a nice low maintenance engine that will just scream. Add a supercharger, and you have yourself a BEAST!!!! :Graucho .

I wouldn't get rid of it for the world!!!

Ray@TastyDollars 12-30-2002 01:17 PM

The Mustang has always been a Love/ Hate thing. The guys who hate it always seem to compare their "better" cars to it. "Hey man, my Supra can beat a Stang" , "Hey dude My whateverthefuckitis can beat a stang". :)

Not for the money , never. Its always been the best bang for the buck(no pun intended). And to those Chevy boys, wtf happend to the Camaro and Firebird, lol!! Mustang forever !!!

Best bang for a buck is any f-body with an LS1. No GT will come close to touching it, and the Cobra won't either. (MAYBE the supercharged one, provided it is driven well - prove to me that it is faster - timeslips naysayers?) There are still new F-Bodys for sale all over the place. Problem with that car is the little girlies couldn't afford it, nor could the hat on backwards Yo Yo Yo weenies. It simply cost too much.

Camaro is gone, so is Firebird. GM is famous for that. Just when they get a car right, they stop building it. The Grand National, for instance. That car was perfect, they stop building it. The Camaro will be back, I am not sure about Trans Am and Firebird.

I would rather have a used Z-28 then a new mustang any day of the week, and my used car will beat your ass bad. I drove a white GT a few years ago, it was a turd. I drove a 2002 SS, and it was wicked fast. It is a vette engine with 2 bolt mains.

On the other hand, I am contemplating the supercharged Cobra once SVT irons out the wrinkles. Ford build quality is a joke. Didn't they stop building the Cobra one year, and stop building the 2003 for awhile because of quality issues? Or, a Lightning...very nice truck.

Mustang = for people who can't afford a Camaro
Camaro = for people who can't afford a Vette
Vette = for people who can't afford a Viper

Stangs are shitty compared to camaros and firebirds for sure, but it's still a good bang for the buck. It's just that on the highway they get raped so easily. I own a firebird v6 and i barely have trouble keeping up with a GT on the highway. For the streetlight it's a different thing tho :glugglug

Don't forget your backwards hat, your Vanilla Ice CD, a white tank top, and some homiez to stuff in the back seat. You'll be the talk of the town in your shiny new Mustang GeE TeE! :thumbsup
Then you can go to the track and rip 15 second 1/4 miles all day long. Wow! Now *I* envy you!!

pOOp,

LOL.... I didn't say I wish I could afford one, I said I was looking for one. It is hard to find an original that someone wants to part with.

And in case you missed my prior post I have a new moded Bullitt(yes that's a Mustang). I bought it because I wanted it, not because it was the only thing I could afford. I have several cars, and a couple of motorcycles, But I appreciate you concern for my financial well being. :winkwink:

JohnV 12-30-2002 05:14 PM

I'm not the biggest Mustang fan, but I would take a 67 fastback anyday. I can also say this; MattM has a bad ass Bullitt (the brightest red ever made) and Becky De has a bad boy Roush Stage2 Speedster. They both park next to me every day and they both sound absolutley amazing when they start them each night and tear out of the parking lot :thumbsup

Hey MattM and Becky, you both know my car is still waaaay better:winkwink:

It's all good, Matt! Drive what you like, not what someone else likes! :drinkup

I don't mind the 2003 Cobra. Other then that, all the GT's, Bullet's, and Cobras are turds.

Like I said earlier, I may look into the Cobra when they get it right. And there is a red Lightning in the paper today I am debating whether or not to look at.

Other then that, I would rather be caught dead in a Z-06 then seen alive in a Mustang. I feel sorry for the Mustang bastards at street legals. Especially when turbo volvo station wagons and Dodge Turbo Diesel trucks are waxing their asses! :thumbsup

Our local ford dealer has rows of 99 and newer mustangs (used) for sale, it seems around here everytime you turn around there is a new mustang. I am in oregon if your wondering.
Hit me with some specifics if you want and I will go take a look around at them for ya.

People in Montreal know that Mustangs can only be found on the Laval side of the Island. ;)

Those who are from around here know what im talking about.

Since when do Mustangs suck?

I just bought another Mustang. This is my 5th Mustang in 15 years. I've had a '66 fastback, ' 88 GT, '95 GT, '01 Coupe, and now a '02 GT.

I looked at the Vettes. I took one for a test drive. I couldn't get out of the damn parking lot because it was so low to the ground. Firebird? Yikes - Firebirds look more like a door stop than an automobile.

Camaro? Don't get me started with Camaros. I expect my car to have power windows and power locks.

The Mustang GT is a great daily driver.

Your first Mustang is the one that didn't suck.

I have never driven a Vette, but have driven Camaros and they are low to the ground. And I have not seen a Camaro without power everything. You have to special order them without power windows, locks, air, etc. Why? Have you heard of strip cars? Don't tell me you bought that 'purdy Mustang and don't drive the shit out of it? Take it to the track? Run 1/4 milers with it? Come on...LS1 can take extreme abuse, can't that 4.6 litre stand up to it?

Camaros, Vettes, Firebirds, Vipers, Ferraris are great daily drivers. If you know how to drive. :winkwink:

I drove a Mustang, and it is a great car to daily drive as well. But it was like sitting in a bus (my wife burst out laughing when she sat in it), and those cars are gutless.

I'd rather be low to the ground in a nice looking car, and a fast car, then in a dime a dozen car that a V6 Camaro could give a good run. Or a Subaru, or a Trailblazer, or a Dodge RT...where do I stop? Ford's fastest truck will rip a GT, their 'sports' car, a new asshole. Go figure! :thumbsup

This is just my opinion, no disrespect intended! :drinkup

Ray, I owned a Mustang GT. It was a great car until a Ford Taurus kept up to me on the street in a race, and a Buick Grand National with dad, wife, and two kids in the back seat made that car look like the sad sack of shit that it was. And still are. When you get your GT, or Cobra, taunt some GN owners. Let me know what happens. ;) Hell, taunt some Camaro or Firebird owners. I see 'stangs getting beat up all the time at the track by f-bods. It is nasty.

Here is my car:
http://members.aol.com/diericeboydie/tailpipe.jpg

Next car is 2003 Cobra, and or a Ford Lightning. After that Z-06 or Viper. Shopped for a Z-06 this summer, and I made the mistake of asking how much the payments were. wife said " if you gotta ask, it is to much" and we left. Piss me off...

I will rethink my strategy when spring rolls around.

Enjoy your car, dude. On a serious note, if I have any advice, I would probably suck it up and look for a good used Cobra. You are gonna wish you had more speed shortly after you get that stang, and Cobras are pretty quick, and somewhat rare.

I loved 'stangs in my past life, but as I grew up, I started to earn more money and can afford bigger, badder, better cars. ;)

Cheers to the Mustang crowd! Ford Loves yah! :drinkup
Drive what you want...who gives a fuck what I or anyone else thinks. You are driving the thing, not us!

Have you driven a Ferrari recently? I must confess I haven't. However, I watched a friend of mine back of out a drive way two weeks ago - This is not a daily fucking driver. He had to map out the damn driveway to figure out how to get it out. This is a car that you can't take down certain streets.

Driven a Vette recently? Same shit. At least when I took one out for a test drive last month. I bottomed out driving out of the lot, and a dozen times in the next two miles.

One of my co-workers recently bought a Camaro. Nice car. Cost the same as my Mustang. NO POWER LOCKS OR POWER WINOWS

Never in my life have I driven a Ferrari. But if I could afford one, I would be able to afford to fix it if it scraped and caused damage. If I had to map my driveway, I would trim the fucking curbs. Can't he afford to do it??

Vette is probably the same way. Whippie. It is a low slung sports car, as is a Viper, NSX, etc. etc. There are obvious drawbacks. But who in the fuck would buy a Mustang because it has better clearance then a Vette or a Ferrari? Also, what were you rubbing when you drove the Vette? The exhaust? Rad support? Transmission crossmember? Catalytic converter?

If your co-worker bought a stripped Camaro, assuming it has the LS1, he will whoop your ass. Hell, fully loaded he will. A good driver in a V-6 Camaro will give you a good run! I would love to get a stripped Camaro (ls1) but they are a bitch to find. I would pick his car over yours any day of the week. Because in auto cross, or at the track, he will rape your sorry car to hell and back. Not stock for stock, but your mods against his stock car.

No bad blood, appreciate your opinions!

Cheers mate! :drinkup
