So dude calls me, drags the convo for about 10minutes asking me about my skills and basically wants me to steal "public domain" content (which I informed him that just because its on the internet doesn't mean its PD)and build a Ex-GF site, build the affiliate program of course I would need to pay for any expenses, then market and run it and we will be 50-50 partners.

When I asked what he brings to the table he says, "well its my idea and I'll get hosting and pickup a domain at godaddy for it", which we would pay for out of the profits. Then tried for 15minutes to convince me it was good 50/50 deal...WTF are some people thinking...:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

I have a similar story. An ex biz partner wanted 50% of a deal, for which we were supposed to share the work equally. It didn't work out and I walked away.

Two months later he came back offering the same deal, for which I'd have to do ALL the work, and he'd offer me 40%. I couldn't believe it. He seriously hadn't worked out in his head how stupid it sounded and rambled on as if he was selling the dream of a lifetime.

Yeah right...I have this dead Nigerian relative if anyone is interested.

I have a deal then you can't pass up.

I will get a membership to a site and download all of their content. You then use it to create a paysite, an affiliate site, get hosting, a domain and processing set up. You get affiliates, manage them, deal with payouts and handle all day to day operations of the program.

I will split the profit with you 60/40. That is 10% more than dumbass offered you and you don't even have to download other people's content :)

I've gotten a similiar pitch several times over the years except instead of running a program, it's SEO'ing ppl's sites. Why the hell would I take a 50% cut when I'm doing all the work and can get 100%. See ya!

basically it was usually someone who wanted to start a text tgp where he would provide the "idea" as in the niche, the domain (something as worthless as sexygirlsshowingthisandthatormaybesomethingelse.co m) and all I would have to do to get 50%, would be to write about 10K long gallery descriptions, SEO work and drive traffic from my other sites into it, to get the bloody thing started. Sounds great, doesn't it, lol
