Chelsea won their fourth title: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/report?id=269758&cc=5901

And they're in the FA Cup Final next weekend. Only six other teams have ever done the double--win the league and the FA Cup in the same season.

3 times in one season scoring 7 goals in a game, 1 time scoring 8. I say they deserved it this year. Hate saying it tho as I am a Man United (second team) fan, but all credit to them.

They poured it on.. There's a few things to take away from this season.

1. Chelsea was clearly superior to Manchester United in terms of personnel, which makes you appreciate how amazing of a player Cristiano Ronaldo is.
2. With that said, Chelsea drastically underperformed. They won the league title by 1 point with a last game, over a team that's faced personnel changes and injuries throughout the season.
3. Manchester United has both positives and negatives to take away. I think they were a lot worse than they were last year, especially their defense which was atrocious, yet they came within 1 point of the title. Also, they had PLENTY of opportunities to overtake Chelsea by a significant amount, and they couldn't. That blackburn game killed them. Their goal scoring was significantly reduced this year.
4. The emergence of Nani. I think he's going to improve dramatically this year and move up with Rooney as forwards, and they'll be the best 1-2 punch in the EPL. With the two new signings for Man U, I think they're the heavy favorites to win next year.

Man U played 6 straight games without any of their first team defenders, they had to play them games with a thrown together defense yet they still only lost the title by one point. I think that is a massive achievement in its self. :thumbsup

Even when they were healthy, you could always feel that any team could score on them. And yes, I agree, from a perspective they did overachieve with all the problems they had this year. I really thought that if Rooney wasn't hurt, they would have beaten Chelsea the second time. But on the flip side, they're nowhere the team they were with Ronaldo and Tevez. I mean they just destroyed Chelsea last year.

Bad News...

Bad news for all you Man Utd fans... the party is over... am I a Chelsea Fan, nope I support a lowly Championship side called QPR... however I am a football fan and I have to say it's sad what has happened to Man Utd...

Yes they lost by only 1 point... but as someone said Chelsea under performed this year... never as the champioship been won by such a low points total, and all the top teams lost a bunch of games !

Man Utd need to buy, they have several players who to be frank are playing on dead legs... the likes of Giggs and Scholes... they should try and buy Modric and Joe Cole... but alas they were bought out by the Glaziers who have now put them about 790 Million in debt !

They do indeed have two of the best defenders in the world in Ferdinand and Vidic... however Ferdinand is always injured, and Vidic if truth be known wants to go to Barcelona... So not only can they not buy the new players they need, they will also lose ones they dont want to lose (just like they didnt want to lose Ronaldo)

My prediction is this... an even worse season this year, again failing to win the title... or any major silver wear (I dont include the league cup as major software!) Ferguson will go at the end of the 2010/2011 season... as will probably one or two big names, Vidic to Barcelona if he doesnt go this year... and Rooney to Real Madrid ! The following 2011/2012 season Man Utd will be average at best... oh this is all unless some rich arab like bought Man City comes along... lol

Hate Chelsea but they do deserve it this year!

If Man U bought the players they should have bought at the start of the season, then things would have been very different.

Next season should be interesting. I wonder who Man City will sign this time...
