All registrars are good before problems start but well, fortunately, I had no problems so far with mentioned above, the only thing that suck about them is their outsourced from India support.

Vendzilla 05-08-2010 06:49 PM

I've had all my domains at godaddy since right after they started, I never had any problems and have always had good service when needed. I do hate when they upgrade the software and I have to relearn where everything is.

Arnox 05-08-2010 07:13 PM

Namecheap.

Brujah 05-08-2010 07:18 PM

What are you looking for in a registrar? That'll make a difference.

HandballJim 05-08-2010 07:23 PM

Godaddy is fine if you're not scared of horror stories. Most people don't have problems with godaddy. Coupons sets .com prices to 6,99$ + icann fee. Also there's coupon for 6,99$ domain transfers.

If you're willing to pay more for good sleep at night, go for Moniker. Monte Cahn is one awesome guy in domain industry. And he's always willing to help no matter if you got 3 domains at Moniker ro 20,000.

I have a couple of Godaddy horror stories, not worth taking the time to write about both in full detail. The simpler horror story was: even tho I bought Privacy, my info went up on Whois, so I started to get mail, email and phone calls! Mail included postcards with the name of the very XXX named site right on the postcards. I will Whois Guard any site from now on, even non-adult, to avoid the onslaught of this crap.

Right now I'm having an issue with Namecheap, trying to get a 'good' EPP key to do a transfer, and the live online help and ticket system is going nowhere. Their EPP key keeps getting rejected.

BTW Namecheap is now charging for Whois guard, but not as much as Godaddy.

So my points are:

No registrar is perfect, most are good, sometimes they will fuck up, sometimes you can get deals on one vs. the other (like Godaddy will give you a year if you transfer in, which is why I'm moving the Namecheap domains to GD. And all my other Namecheap domains, but one, have transferred successfully! <- tearing hair out :helpme)

bloggerz 06-13-2010 04:42 PM

Moniker.

ALL registrars pretty much add on a year when you transfer to them.

If you've had issues with Godaddy why would you transfer your domains to them?

I have over two hundred domains there, domains, only about 15% are active sites, so if they only fucked up twice, that's less than a 1% fuck-up rate. (I don't host with them.)

Monte Cahn sure respects others property. I offered him widget under certain circumstances as Snapnames didn't have any sales tool at all, just some crap banners.
And guess what he do, pushed me out of using Snapnames so I won't find out that under Essociate tracker, they have made ripoff copy of my widget (without data as they didn't have source code of data scrapping server side scripts.

Essociate widget:

My original widget months before Snapnames even joined Essociate:
http://freshsnap.com/widget

(Some data sources at freshsnap.com are dead as after Snapnames shaving, my programmer and partner did drop from project and there was nobody to fix errors)

Funny, isn't it? If you're brave, place your valuable domains with backlinks and returning traffic in hands of Monte Cahn.

You were banned, zabijaq...wtf are you doing here? And by the way, once AGAIN you are talking shit about a GFY advertiser.

Pushing evidence isn't equal to talking sh!t. Fatfoo's bot is talking sh!t :D

PornMD: So you think that it's correct to protect advertiser that monetize your traffic rather then your members (that are your traffic). You can pick other advertisers but you can't pick members, members pick you.

RummyBoy 06-14-2010 02:39 AM
