Nope. We are definitely not the land of the free. Matter of fact every other civilized country I have visited it seems the citizens enjoy much more freedom than we do in almost every way. Not saying there aren't countries out there that are far worse than here in the U.S.

But overall, I feel very much like I am in a police state. And they just keep making new laws everyday. :( But try to get stupid or bad laws taken back? It seems to very rarely happen.

Every politician that gets elected seems to feel they have to do something. And that something is usually passing new legislation = new laws.

Apparently it's a never-ending process that seems to prove that no laws ever really work because they just keep making new ones every freakin' day.

we live in a society with rules. to enforce those rules requires a police force and unfortunately that means people within that force will sometimes abuse the authority/power the people of the society have entrusted them with. does that make it a police state? of course not. does that make it a policy executed from the highest office of those who enforce the rules. no. has canada ever had a person in power/authority abuse that, of fucking course.
