Scott McD 05-08-2010 10:30 AM

Usually just take it down to the car wash, unless it's a sunny day.

Which is basically never then...

Fletch XXX 05-08-2010 10:30 AM

No. The dealership that I bought my '03 Toyoto Tacoma thru...provides a free car wash for as long as I own the truck and carry their logo on my license plate. BTW...they hand wash it. I have had it for seven years (the warranty expired last month) and I usually have it washed every couple of weeks.

Never did it!

GetSCORECash 05-08-2010 10:42 AM

I did just about two months ago and it reminded me why I shouldn't.

Spunky 05-08-2010 10:45 AM

Yes I do all the time

fuzebox 05-08-2010 11:31 AM

Of course, I love washing my cars... It's relaxing and gives me time to think. There's also a man-vehicle connection there and a taking pride and care for your things.

Having someone else wash your car is like having someone else bang your wife :2 cents:

LeRoy 05-08-2010 01:31 PM

I used to own an Auto Detailing service. So yah I hook it up every now and then.

plus i dont think the drive through washes do as good of a job

ottopottomouse 05-08-2010 01:55 PM

Sometimes I wash it, other times I pay someone else to do it. Can't go through an automatic-wash as it will rip the spoiler off the back (and they scratch the paint too).

Clean and shiny is enough though, detailing is a bit too OCD.

PlugRush Sascha 05-08-2010 01:55 PM

I wash my car in the spring, summer and fall. In the winter I usually just do the drive thru car wash shit.

Rain-X is great. They also have shit you can put in your washer fluid.

Sly 05-08-2010 01:59 PM

I just had mine detailed about a month ago. Pretty good price I thought, $65. After it was detailed the carpet looked brand-new. I'm sure getting the occasional detail, maybe yearly, could help hold the value over time.

EdgeXXX 05-08-2010 02:41 PM

Interesting timing, I just finished washing my car.

FreeHugeMovies 05-08-2010 02:53 PM

Dealership does it for free!

halfpint 05-08-2010 03:01 PM

Yes I do now, After taken it to be valeted and cleaned inside I got pulled by the law and breathalised for drink driving cause we went into the pub next door while they were cleaning the car, All I had to drink was a coke my misses had a beer but I wont be going there again ..lol

BlackCrayon 05-08-2010 03:23 PM

i like going to one of those pressure wash places that lets you do it yourself. the hose at home just doesn't have the pressure i need.

Jon Oso 05-08-2010 03:28 PM

About once a week. Haven't in a couple weeks because the last time it cost me $100 to fix the exhaust they ripped apart.

Luckily they offered to fully detail my car inside and out for free so it worked out.

TheDA 05-08-2010 03:41 PM

I used to enjoy doing it myself but not so much now.

I've got a mobile valet that comes round maybe once a month in the summer months, he does inside and out.

Occasionally my friends kids have a go for a bit of extra pocket money. They actually do a good job - once they've finished fucking about with the hose :)

ErectMedia 05-08-2010 03:47 PM

I go to one of those do it yourself quarter deals and bring my own windex, armor all, tire wet etc... I probably spend 2+ hours on it as I'm anal like that. :thumbsup

Sinister_Angel 05-08-2010 03:50 PM

My bimmer dealership does it for free

beerptrol 05-08-2010 04:48 PM

Of course i do. Paying for a car wash would be like paying someone to caress your gf. Same goes for my Harley

pfft, The Heelwalkers - El Camino

chubs washing hot el camino LOL

mrjoint 05-08-2010 05:43 PM

I used to take it to a car wash down the street. But then wasn't sure if those who work there are here legally. I asked the manager and he gave me the the dirty look as if I was an INS spy. So I stopped.

Now I wash it my self (great work out ), if not when ever my gardener comes I pay him little extra to wash it. He got SSN ;). Only thing I don't like is he changes my radio every time, but I think its ok.

Konkan 05-08-2010 05:55 PM

Depends of the spare time. I prefer to wash my car but 2$ for a car washing is not that bad at all.

CYF 05-08-2010 06:04 PM

I usually use the drive thru car wash because it's quick. It doesn't seem to do a very good job though, so when I want my car clean instead of just rinsed off then I wash it myself.

beerptrol 05-08-2010 06:14 PM

Ok I confess my sins.I make my gf in a white tshirt with no bra wash my car

rowan 05-08-2010 06:19 PM

Not allowed to wash our cars at home around here due to water restrictions, but we can use a commercial car wash. The only thing that's permitted at home is spot removal of corrosive substances (bird poop) with a bucket and sponge.

Zuzana Designs 05-08-2010 06:21 PM

I have a company that comes to my place and details all my cars.

PenisFace 05-08-2010 06:43 PM

no point in washing my car unless it's the summer. It's black, and the day after I was it, it always rains. Thus making it filthy again.

So basically it is dirty for 8 months, then spotless for 4 :1orglaugh

There's a product called QEW (Quick and Easy Wash) that is basically a no-suds type car wash that you can wash your entire car with using only a gallon of water, two buckets and a spray bottle.

It was made to clean RV's in campsites that don't allow the run-off. You can pretty much wash your whole exterior in your garage with the door closed and not get any excess water anywhere.

I used it when I was freezing my ass off in Dallas in the winter because I had a black car.

DateDoc 05-08-2010 06:54 PM

There is a mobile car wash that comes by once a month to do mine.

digitaldivas 05-08-2010 08:05 PM

My Benz would most likely break up with me if I did that to her. Hand Wash only. And black is a bitch to keep clean :(

jackknoff 05-08-2010 08:43 PM

I'm too lazy to do all that, I take it to get detailed every once in a while. At least when someone starts writing in the dirt on it

Spanx!
Jack

EliteWebmaster 05-08-2010 08:59 PM

Don't have time to do it but at the same time I don't trust going to the automated car wash either.

So I send mine to a auto detail shop once a week. They wash the car, polish the wheels, and detail the car inside and out :)

brentbacardi 05-08-2010 09:44 PM

I dont do the drive through except occasionally like if a bird craps on my hood and I am going to pick up a date ill do one of the quick $5 drive through ones but only the touchless ones because I dont like the things hitting my convertible top (2007 Mustang oh yeah baby).

I usually go to the ones where you park your car and they have a pressure hose and foamy brush and vacumes there for you but since I moved last, they don't seem to have any where I am located and I havent really washed my car thoroughly in madd long!

BigRod 05-08-2010 09:53 PM

The Hummer dealership I bought from has bikini carwashes during the summer. Needed or not I don't miss many!
