Do you believe in Feng Shui?

I'm reading a book about the origins of Feng Shui and how to apply this ancient Chinese "art" to your life, and it's actually quite interesting.
For those of us who believe in positive energy and the power of your good vibes, some of the things the Feng Shui says, make a lot of sense
(although there's a lot of silly things tangled up with the logical stuff).

anyway, for those of you who believe in Feng Shui, here are a few pointers taken from this cool book:

    - Never place a mirror in front of your front door because it reflects the chi (positive energy). Instead, place it on a wall to one side of the front door.
    - In a house where the front door is directly in front of the back door, place a folding screen (biombo) in between the two so the good energy doesn't go straight out.
    - Add live green plants to your decor. Plants deflect stress and help create a more relaxed atmosphere in any house.
    - Work on something you love and make tons of money at it, and you'll have better chi.

OK, that last one is not in the book, but it's common sense

I do, like you, to a point. However I've found, in practice, that many of the things they recommend doing just aren't feasible in many spaces. I do try and take into account a few basic rules though when arranging my furniture. Regardless of whether it helps positive energy stay inside your house it generally just flows well and I'm all about smooth lines/transitions and good use of negative space

I agree with both of you. If used properly, Feng Shui can contribute to the well being of a household members, but you just can't live your life by it. I read once that beams on a ceiling will disturb the flow of energy so you should avoid them.
When I first saw my house I fell in love with it because of those exact ceiling beams, and let me tell you, the energy here is pretty good. We're all happy, relaxed and live great lives.
I still wouldn't hang a mirror in front of my door hehehe

Everytime I hear an adult talking about this kind of shit it depresses me. An adult's belief in hocus pocus should end about the time they find out Santa Claus is just Mom & Dad.

There is absolutely zero scientific evidence that supports Feng Shui.

                    Of course.

Putting the shitter next to the eatin' stuff is in poor form.

                    Just shit while you eat.

Feng Shui is cool thing is you try to understand and implement in your life. After I read some the FS articles it really has an effect in the positive energy in the house. Actually I read the articles about the water and the working office.
