Candid Hosting

is anybody else having problems with candid hosting? My site is constantly unavailable for short amounts of time, the other day it was down for six hours. When I try to submit galleries, I get the message "server too slow", I email candid hosting support and just get the message back that nothing is wrong, obviously this is not true.

I am using 1800Gb a month in bandwidth for my TGP and galleries, so am paying a lot for hosting, and getting a crap service at the moment. They don't seem bothered that my site keeps going down, in fact they deny there is a problem, and may be my connection. However, I am being told by webmasters all over the world that my site is down/slow so this is a bag of shite!

This is playing havoc with my trades, after working like crazy to build traffic to my TGP up to 40K a day, I am now back to 25K a day, for no apparent reason other than crap hosting.

I'd be interested in hearing if anyone else is having problems with them, in the meantime I suppose it's time to look for another host, pisser really as candid were always good in the past....

I was considering Candid...but after hearing that...no way.
Thanks for sharing that .

... yes, we have constant trouble with candidhosting, itīs been going on for 14 month now. what really pisses me off is that our server are never down and faster every fucking day. I expect my ISP to be more down, but they just donīt go down ... weīll move stuff to some other ISP pretty soon if candid will continue beeing the best ISP there is, I hate it when ISPīs donīt give you trouble ...

funkmaster - I have been with candid for four years, up until four weeks ago they have been excellent - I originally took out hosting with them because of their good reputation. However now my TGP is dying, and I am being blacklisted all over the place because my galleries are down all the time - not excactly what I would call the best ISP ever....

sara, sounds more like a hardware / configuration problem of your box to me ... candid is stronger than ever ... ask david d to look into your box, I am pretty much sure he will be able to fix shit ...

i did email david d this morning, it seems that the emailing the technical support alone does not get much of a result .....

I will post here the result, as I would not want candid to unfairly get a bad reputation, four weeks crap out of four years hosting is not a bad record - however four weeks more of this is enough to lose me lots of money and ruin my gallery posting trusted status. Also it pisses me off that their support keep denying there is a problem when clearly there is....

Hi candid hosting have now got back to me, I am sorry if this post has seemed to criticise them, it was just to see if others are suffering the same problem, and out of frustration at once more getting galleries rejected for 404.

As I said, I have been with candid for four years, and this is the first time I have had a real problem, which they are working hard to resolve for me. From people who have replied to me, I am the exception rather than the norm and candid hosting come with excellent recommendations.

Don't let this put people off using them for hosting, as all hosting companies have occasional problems, and candid have been very user friendly to me, and are fixing this as we speak.

Candid is a great host.

Gotta say no downtime problems here. Certainly sounds like it may be a problem on your box.

I'm sure it's something on your end. Candid hosting is the best. I have never had problems and their customer service is right on the problem every time.

Candid has always been great to us....sounds like operator error to me. :2 cents:

I switched to Candid virtual hosting recently. No complaints here. Good prices for premium hosting and bw.
