Best software free or paid for Ipad/Ipod

What's the best software to convert my dvds/blu-rays to ipod/ipad format?

Doesn't matter if it's free or paid. Just looking for one that does good quality video and sound and has easy of use.

where are you planing to store your BlueRays?
converted to digital format, they are about 40Gb each

and there is no usb on iPad to hook up an external drive.

Oh, and after conversion and bitrate compression for iPad/iPod it is no longer a BluRay or dvd.
