Which Men And Women Do You Admire The Most?
The Gallup Organization has completed their annual poll of America's most admired men and women.
The question they were asked was: What man/woman that you have heard or read about, living today in any part of the world, do you admire most? And who is your second choice? The results were are follows. Most admired men: George W. Bush Jimmy Carter Colin Powell Pope John Paul II Bill Clinton Billy Graham Nelson Mandela Al Gore Ronald Reagan Denzel Washington Most admired women: Hillary Clinton Oprah Winfrey Laura Bush Barbara Bush Margaret Thatcher Jennifer Lopez Elizabeth Dole Condoleezza Rice Maya Angelou Madeleine Albright I guess staying with that selection of names the man I most admire is Jimmy Carter. My grandfather met him a number of times when he was working in politics and spoke very highly of him. He always said he was too good a man to be president. Having not met him myself I don't know but he has done a heck of a lot of good since leaving office. Mandela is second for me out of the men but it is darn close. I have a harder time with the women. I love Maya Angelou. I am a wanna be writer and she just leaves me in awe when I read her stuff. This is especially with 'I rise'. Madeline Albright also gets on my list. Maggie Thather most certainly does not. What do you think, who isn't there that you would have put on the list and who shouldn't be there? |
Larry Flynt is the man.

OK - something is wrong. When you ask a person who he/she admire the most, they should NOT answer with the name of a talkshow host or a actor - that is just wrong.
In the one hand you have the guy that found the cure to cancer, and in the other you have Oprah Winfrey - Fuck, I go with Oprah |

I dont really admire anyone. Maybe some of the people in the military that put their lives on the line.
Anyone that honestly admires the clinton's, gore, etc, need their head examined. Id add Bill O'reilly, hes a bit over the top but has to be in order to compete for ratings. But hes genuine and has helped people. Like when he pressured the fucking theif charities give the money to the 911 victims. |

that i found very scary as the last words he said before they pulled the trigger was him confessing that he was a Jew. Since I am jewish - and actually had thoughts of visiting Pakistan as a tourist one day - it hit home witha big thud that just because of my religion people think i should be killed. |
We don't have a great war in our generation, or a great depression, but we do, we have a great war of the spirit. We have a great revolution against the culture. The great depression is our lives. We have a spiritual depression.

i am reading The Last Lion about Winston Churchill and his singular resolve and way he was able to convey his strength through words really was amazing and possibly saved our way of life in some way
